Déjà vu

According to Wikipedia, Déjà vu is a French phrase meaning "already seen", and it refers to the experience of feeling sure that one has witnessed or experienced a new situation previously.

I haven't found out whether it's always scary. I actually have a frightening childhood memories regarding Déjà vu. It popped up in my minds some times, cannot count up the frequency since it always comes out for 1-2 seconds only. It's such a scary, frightening, horrific feeling that I can be shocked for a sec then my heart pulse goes up damn fast for the next few secs. It's rather similar to the feeling of 'falling down from a high place" when you are going to bed, except it's not so scary.

At the age of 8 during midnight I was ever suddenly waken up from bed by a man's voice staying in my mind for more than half an hour. He sounded angry, kept ordering me to "go out" and repeating it many times. I was the only one at home hearing that voice. I just screamed and cried lolz but parents can do nothing surely. Though I wonder why that different frightening feeling cannot be forgotten and even come in me many times till today.

Few weeks back I felt it again when watching a video, then some times later watched it back and got deja vu again at the same time in the vid. I just realized that it is always triggered by a composition of voices which are difficult to describe, and if I heard the similar one, no matter what I am seeing, that unique frightening feeling is there and sometimes I am stuck for a while. Anyone got Déjà vu as well??? Share here ^^

Ovi by Nokia comes with N97

I am not so interested about anything related to competition between Apple with Microsoft, Apple with Nokia, Apple with everyone. Apple is not the oldest in PC industry and just came into mobile phones, but obviously it is where the following trends come from. Every company can have their own genius engineers bring in the superb functionality but their innovation lose to Apple. In case of N97, I just perceived it as an excellent successor of Nokia's evolution 5800XpressMusic at first but now it seems to be intentionally aimed for iPhone. At roughly very close period, Nokia's -another breakthrough- Ovi Store is launched -in a few weeks from now- targeted to Apple's App Store.

App Store is surely a huge hit for any mobile phone developers as it reached over 1 billion in less than 1 year!! Do remember that they just put the applications tied-in iPhone+iTouch, which are also new compared to a decade age of other mobile phone brands. For this Ovi, same as Apple, Nokia will get 30% of the selling revenues from its online store.

I never argued that iPhone has now ruled the mobile industry. Nokia's first touchscreen 5800 was not the first follower of iPhone. By the end of last year, SE's X1 was like a massive buzz and shortyly after the promotion got slower, Nokia 5800 ads are everywhere.

That's an attractive promotion to see other tie-ins with Facebook, MySpace, LinkedIn etc. Let's see whether its social network functionalities can beat iPhone :)

Great promotion, and hopes it's not just merely a promo.

Looking at functionalities, its screen looks better than iPhone, especially in resolution, though personally I still give two thumbs up for SE X1. QWERTY keyboard, I thought, is just a choice. Some people like me hate touchscreen keyboard. Its memory is just a crazy surprise but please think twice, is it really needed? Seeing its memory, yes, iPhone's memory is really one of the main setbacks. For camera it's better than iPhone but not the best one, and obviously even 2-3 MP is already much more than enough for mobile phone, except you cannot use it.

Wondering why everyone calls it iPhone's Killer, let's see whether it will :)

The important part actually should go to the touch screen which makes your price, makes the main intention, promotion, and everything. How responsive it is would then be the measurement and as Nokia's previous products, we should see how often this new N-series got crashed against iPhone, if you want to compare, which seems to be much more reliable.

Sedari kecil saya selalu ditanamkan bahwa matematika adalah ilmu pasti. Matematika itu jawabannya cuma satu. Berbeda dengan bidang lain, misalnya sosial, dimana berbagai solusi dapat diperdebatkan. Saya tidak pernah memperdebatkan hal ini namun seiring pelajaran matematika yang saya dapatkan di sekolah dari TK-SMA saya dapat menyadarinya kebenaran akan istilah 'ilmu pasti' tersebut.

Memang hasil dari suatu soal atau pertanyaan tidak selalu satu dan unik. Ambil contoh,

---> x^2-4 = 0 ,menghasilkan x=2 atau x=-2. Hasilnya, nilai dari x adalah salah satu diantara 2 bilangan tersebut dan bilangan mana pun yang dimasukkan jke dalam pesamaan jawabannya akan selalu benar, namun Anda tidak dapat memasukkan kedua2nya sekaligus bukan? Kira-kira begitulah yang disebut ilmu pasti, dimana dalam kasus ini, salah satu dari keduanya.

---> x = 0/0 , menghasilkan x adalah bilangan tak tentu. Nilai dari x dapat digantikan dengan bilangan apa pun, sekalipun bilangan itu 0 atau tak hingga. Nilai dari x dapat bervariasi tapi hasil dari persamaan tersebut adalah: x bilangan tak tentu. Beberapa orang menyebut istilah ini untuk mendukung keberadaan seni dari matematika. Ya terkadang matematika memang dapat membuat kita berdecak kagum.

Sayangnya, setidaknya dari pemikiran pribadi saya, bila tidak berhati-hati, ini akan menjadi bumerang bagi matematika itu sendiri. Dari usia yang sangat dini seorang anak diajarkan kebenaran dari suatu soal dalam matematika. Bahkan seringkali, hanya kebenaran itu, ya, hanya benar atau tidaknya. Sebenarnya saya merasa dibujuk untuk kembali berpikir oleh tayangan di salah satu stasiun televisi swasta yang diadoptasi dari reality show Amerika. Saya mengatakan 'kembali berpikir', karena saya memang pernah memikirkannya saat SD, dan tidak mendapatkan jawabannya hanya mengganggap hal ini sangat sepele.

3x4 adalah 3+3+3+3 atau 4+4+4?
sebagian orang dengan cepat menjawab salah satu diantaranya. Apa pun jawaban yg benar, saya masih meragukan kebenaran tersebut.

Saya bertanya balik, atau katakanlah, bertanya kepada diri sendiri, 3x4 itu 3 kali 4 atau 3 dikali 4? Apakah A kali B berarti ada B sebanyak A kali, dan A dikalikan B berarti A dikalikan sebanyak B kali? Ataukah ada persepsi yang lebih baik (dan benar)? Bagaimana dengan A-B, apakah 'A kurang B' dan 'A dikurang B' itu sebenarnya sama?

Jika saya bertanya kepada orang-orang saya yakin sebagian dari mereka tidak akan menghiraukan saya, 'Penting gak sih?', 'Toh jawabannya juga sama!', 'Itu kan cuma masalah bahasa, verbal atau tertulis!'. Ya, karena pertanyaan ini tidak penting, dan memang tidak penting, saya pribadi tidak mengetahui jawabannya dan toh bisa lulus sampai SMA dengan nilai matematika yang tidak pas-pasan, namun salah kaprah terkadang bisa fatal.

Dari hal-hal yang luar biasa sepele ini orang menghiraukan pemahaman dari matematika itu sendiri. Kembali ke 'keindahan' matematika tadi, matematika itu ilmu pasti. Ya, jawabannya pasti, namun apakah matematika cuma terletak kepada jawabannya? Hal sepele dan tidak penting tadi timbul dalam diri kita sebagai suatu mindset dalam belajar matematika bahwa hasilnya harus benar, dan terkadang beberapa orang menilai, 'yang penting jawabannya benar'.

Terkadang bila disuruh mengecek kembali jawaban teman Anda, yang Anda lihat pertama kali hanya jawabannya. 'Kalau jawabannya bener, ya seharusnya semuanya bener'. Menurut saya dalam matematika, terlalu banyak hal yang dianggap sepele.

Di minggu2 terakhir SMA saya pernah berdebat dengan guru matematika saya. Saya tidak begitu mengingat angkanya tapi kurang lebih seperti yang digambarkan oleh fungsi y^2=x. Beliau membedakan y^2=x dan y=akar dari x. Saya langsung menyanggah bahwa seharusnya kedua fungsi tersebut sama dan ironisnya beberapa murid juga berpendapat demikian. Kembali ke kasus yang sangat sepele tadi, 'Toh jawabannya sama'. Namun sayangnya dalam kasus antara 2 fungsi tadi, bisa jadi jawabannya tidak sama.

Mungkin bagi yang masih kuliah dan masih fresh akan matematika bisa mengingat kesalahan dasar (dan kita selalu tau untuk menghindari hal ini) dimana f(x)/g(x) > 0, Anda diminta untuk mencari nilai x, dan kalikan kedua ruas kanan&kiri dengan g(x) adalah kesalahan yang sangat fatal. Saya pernah melakukan hal tersebut sewaktu SMP dan terkejut mengetahui ini salah. 'Koq salah, toh sama aja'. Sayangnya dalam kasus ini, jawabannya justru salah.

Saya yakin kesalahan ini tidak akan menjadi kesalahan umum seperti sekarang bila yang sepele-sepele tadi tidak dibuat sepele. Bukannya sok membesar-besarkan masalah, tapi semua sisi harus dipahami. Tidak ada istilah, 'Ah, itu kan cuma masalah pengucapan kali-dikali doank!' karena tidak ada batasan-batasan dalam matematika. Berbeda dengan ilmu lainnya dimana satu masalah bisa dibawa ngelantur ke hal-hal yang sangat sinkron. Dalam matematika semua sub-ilmu bisa dihubungkan secara langsung ke sub-ilmu lain, karena alasan tadi, matematika adalah ilmu pasti. Dibawa kemana pun tidak akan berubah. Jadi bukan hanya benar atau tidaknya jawaban dari suatu soal. Matematika itu ada prosesnya, tapi seringkali jalan/cara menuju jawaban biasanya dijadikan guru-guru sebagai 'bukti' bahwa mereka tidak menyontek. Saya terkadang ragu apakah semua guru melihat baris per baris cara2 tersebut.

Mungkin tidak perlu jauh-jauh membahas soal SMA yang rumit. Di universitas sekarang saja, saya hanya diberikan rumus oleh dosen. Proses menuju rumus tersebut adalah optional tergantung kesadaran si mahasiswa. Beberapa orang menilai bahwa mahasiswa memang harus dengan kesadaran tinggi mempelajari sendiri proses tersebut, namun saya sangsi bahwa si dosen melihat hal yang sama. Lagipula kenyataannya banyak mahasiswa hanya menghafalkan. Implikasi dari 'ke-ilmu-pasti-an' ini, terkadang saya menyimpulkan cara dan pemahaman berdasarkan jawaban yang diberikan. Saya tau ini memang sangat Gila.

Hal kedua dan terakhir yang ingin saya sampaikan mengenai matematika, jangan menggeneralisasikan matematika sebagai aplikasi dalam semua yang ada di hidup ini. Matematika bisa digunakan di berbagai aplikasi, tapi tidak semuanya. Matematika dengan sederhana menyatakan 1+1=2. Lantas mengapa di dalam ilmu fisika 1+1=1.999, atau repot-repot 2.001, atau lain sebagainya? Karena secara realistis, Anda akan kesulitan mendapatkan pengukuran tepat 2 centimeter. Katakanlah 1 jeruk + 1 jeruk = 2 jeruk. Itu adalah hal yang disampaikan oleh matematika secara sederhana. Namun di dalam realita, pedagang menjual jeruk berdasarkan beratnya, bukan kuantiti.

Yang saya maksud dengan jangan menggeneralisasikan matematika dalam segala hal kehidupan, adalah bahwa ada pengukuran-pengukuran tersendiri di dalam matematika itu. Tidak sesederhana matematika dimana 1+1=2, di dalam kenyataan masing2 angka 1 itu memiliki pengukuran tersendiri, 1 bisa jadi 0.9997, atau 1.002. Tidak semua hal bisa dijadikan sebuah persamaan, melainkan pertidaksamaan, dengan selisih yang kecil tentunya.

Mungkin dunia ini akan menjadi lebih baik bila orang tidak me-matematika-kan sesuatu dengan gampangnya. 'Saya sudah bermain 1 jam, sekarang saya mau belajar pula selama 1 jam'. Di lain sisi orang lain bermain selama satu setengah jam dan belajar hanya setengah jam, dan hasil nya ternyata sama. Anda pernah merasakan hal seperti ini? Tentunya karena ada pengukuran tersendiri di dalam setengah jam tersebut. Setengah jam bagi satu orang bisa jadi 2 jam bagi Anda? 'Saya mendapat nilai 100 dan dia 50.', atau 'Saya mendapatkan hasil pemungutan suara sebanyak 2 kali lipat hasil dia.' Apakah berarti Anda lebih baik 2 kali lipat dibanding orang lain?

Di dalam perusahaan, semakin lama jam lembur seorang karyawan maka gajinya akan semakin bertambah. Namun hal yang dia kerjakan selama 10 jam bernilai 2 jam, karena dia kelelahan, atau karena dia sibuk dengan urusan yang lain-lain. Bisa dilihat, sebagian besar atasan lebih memilih gaji per hari dibanding gaji per bulan. Bukan karena takut si karyawan bolos dan lantas mereka untung sehari, tapi si atasan mengharapkan gaji per hari ini lebih sesuai dengan pengukuran hasil mereka yang sebenarnya, bahkan beberapa bisnis memberi upah berdasarkan hasil yang diperoleh. Mereka tidak mau melihat matematika bahwa karyawan bekerja 8 jam dan lantas menggaji selama 8 jam namun yang mereka hasilkan kurang lebih hanya 4 jam, misalnya.

Saya tidak mengatakan bahwa matematika itu tidak realistis. Matematika bukanlah ilmu yang dapat mengukur kerealistisan suatu permasalahan. Namun matematika dapat membantu Anda dalam hal tersebut. Sayangnya bila hanya matematika saja yang Anda gunakan di otak Anda, maka Anda tidak lagi realistis.

Bluetooth 3.0

Bluetooth 3.0 officially launched

The latest version of Bluetooth, Bluetooth 3.0 + HS, was officially launched during a recent meeting among the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG).

Based off of the 802.11 protocol, Bluetooth 3.0 will increase transfer speeds from 3Mbps up to an impressive 23Mbps, according to Bluetooth supporters. The technology is based on Wi-Fi standards and offers power-saving benefits that weren't available with Bluetooth 2.1.

"Utilizing the 802.11 radio was a natural choice as it provides efficiencies for both our members and consumers -- members get more function out of the two radios they are already including in devices, and consumers with Bluetooth 3.0 HS products will get faster exchange of information without changing how they connect," Bluetooth SIG director Michael Foley said in a statement. "We are excited to expand the possibilities of the PAN."

During the announcement, Bluetooth 3.0 is expected to be used to help transfer large amounts of information between PCs and media devices, with wireless syncing available. Bluetooth has mainly been used by mobile phones, but the faster speeds should lead to Bluetooth adoption with more camcorders, TVs, Blu-ray players, cameras, and other consumer devices.

Even though Bluetooth 3.0 is out and about, many manufacturers are just now catching up to the Bluetooth 2.0 standard. Furthermore, no Bluetooth 3.0 devices are available on the consumer at the moment, and won't begin shipping until Q3 this year, if that early.

Tech journalists and analysts long-anticipated the launch of Bluetooth 3.0, and have high expectations of what it will be able to do in the future. Users will be able to transfer music library, DVDs, and photos all in a matter of seconds, a Bluetooth SIG statement said last week.

Foley said there could be a handful of Bluetooth 3.0 devices in time for the 2009 holiday shopping, but officials don't expect a significant amount of products until next year.

Anehnya dilarang di Indonesia, tapi tetap saja dimainkan, waktu aku datang ke Indonesia untuk promo konser, setiap kali datang ke acara tv, video itu diputar. [tertawa]. Jadi sebenarnya, itu dilarang apa tidak? Maksudnya, officially itu dilarang. Tapi sebenarnya bisa diputar.

Sensual itu apa? Seksi itu apa? Jadi, kalau aku dibilang vulgar, sebenarnya aku dituding sekali. Karena apakah vulgar itu, sesuatu yang hubungannya dengan ikat pinggang ke bawah. Atau, apakah itu kalau misalnya lihat orang pake short, celana pendek, Bermuda, itu vulgar? Apa pake baju renang itu vulgar? Apa telanjang itu vulgar? Masalahnya di Indonesia tuh, nggak ada akses untuk melihat sesuatu yang bisa kita bandingkan. Jadi, karena dari dulu dibilang ini dilarang, jadi kalau lihat perempuan yang agak terbuka sedikit, bilangnya langsung vulgar. Itu kan jorok? Masa sih, aku dibilang jorok. Maksudnya apa? Di lagu “Undress Me”, Anda minta diingatkan kalau tidak jadi diri Anda sendiri. Dalam kehidupan nyata, seberapa sering itu terjadi?

Setiap aku bikin lagu, itu bukan melulu otobiografi. Undress me itu sebenarnya hanya metamorfosis. Kalau cuma dilihat kalimat undress me, sudah jelas itu telanjangi saya. Tapi kalau kita lihat kalimat sebelumnya. ‘when I wear my bad moods to my mouth, you should undress me.’ Jadi, itu bukan baju yang dicopot. Jadi, kata-kata jelekku, kejahatanku kalau aku bicara. Bad mood lah. Makanya, jangan melulu ngambil satu kalimat, karena ini pasti salah kaprah. Dan ini pasti membina kesalahkaprahan.

Maksudnya, dalam kehidupan nyata, seberapa sering Anda bad mood?

Namanya juga perempuan. Setidaknya, seminggu sekali kami boleh bad mood. [tertawa]. Kan hormonal.

Di salah satu situs, saya baca Anda bilang, “Love is when you wake up in the morning and have a big smile.” Kenapa Anda bisa berkata seperti itu?

Itu buat aku memang benar. Cuma, sekarang cinta itu tidak melulu kebahagiaan. Kadang-kadang cinta bertepuk sebelah tangan. Jadi, kebahagiaan itu sangat relatif. Apakah kita bisa bahagia melihat dia bahagia? Jadi buat aku, sekarang, sebenarnya arti kata itu, kalau kita bangun dan tidur, kan ada hari yang berjalan. Apa yang terjadi di situ.

Apa bedanya bekerja dengan musisi indonesia dibandingkan musisi luar?

Bedanya kalau musisi luar sangat menghargai waktu. Lebih apa ya, pokoknya kalau jam karet itu kan, Indonesia banget. Sangat disiplin, sangat menghargai waktu. Sangat menghargai orang. Menghargai waktu tuh, ya ampun mas, kalau di Indonesia, menunggu itu sudah jadi sesuatu yang cultural. Makanya, kalau aku datang ke Indonesia, setiap kali aku menunggu wartawan, atau nunggu apapun. Kesannya tuh aku tidak dihargai. Kalau aku datang ke Indonesia, kan waktunya sempit sekali. Ini sudah sempit, mereka telat.

Intinya, soal disiplin waktu?

Aku cuma bisa bilang tentang musisi aku ya. Mereka nggak punya ego. Kebanyakan musisi di sini, kalau dipilih jadi musisi untuk artis, egonya itu ya artisnya itu. Musisi aku, setiap aku ke panggung, mereka nanya aku, boleh nggak pakai baju ini. Nah aku kan provide mereka dengan wardrobe. Aku inginnya mereka pakai hitam semua. Pokoknya aku kasih dresscode. Jadi segala sesuatunya minta ijin aku. Dulu, tahun ’90-an waktu aku kerja dengan musisi Indonesia, waktu itu mereka ka nasal-asalan saja.

Selain musiknya, apa sebenarnya yang membedakan Anggun sekarang dengan Anggun era ’90-an?

Ya bedanya dari semua sisi. Penampilan, musik, semua hal. Beda tuh pasti. Untungnya berbeda. Coba kalau sama. Itu kan justru saya malah yang khawatir.

Skala satu sampai sepuluh, berapa Anda menilai perkembangan karir Anda sekarang?

Aku sama sekali tidak mengukur begitu. Aku sama sekali bukan ibu guru. Nggak mau ngasih angka. Segala sesuatunya ada logikanya, ada prosesnya. Kalau kita ngasih angka, kesannya tuh kita nggak menghargai proses hidup, atau proses kehidupan seseorang.

Lantas, definisi sukses menurut Anda?

Sukses itu kalau kita bisa berhasil tanpa harus menjual diri dengan kemusikan saya. Jadi, nggak bikin kompromi yang akan saya sesalkan.

Bagaimana Anda melihat sosok Anda ketika memakai baret dan sepatu boots?

Ya sekarang lucu aja. Soalnya namanya juga proses. Itu kan awal ’90. Ya orang-orang dulu pakai bajunya seperti itu. Mungkin tidak berbaret ya, tapi rambutnya dulu ya aku pakai permanent. Ke sekolah ya begitu semua. Jadi nggak aneh.

Tahu tidak? Video klip “Tua Tua Keladi” masih diputar di salah satu tempat karaoke di Jakarta.

Justru waktu aku kemarin konser, aku bilang sama mas Jay, aku ingin daripada punya opening act, aku ingin opening act-nya lagu-lagu lamaku. Supaya orang-orang lihat aku tuh begini. Sekarang begini. Mereka jadi lihat proses perubahan atau metamorfosis seorang Anggun.

Kemarin sempat tinggal di Kanada ya. Apa bedanya tinggal di Kanada dengan Paris?

Sebenarnya aku bisa tinggal di mana saja. Cuma di Paris lebih praktis saja. Karena pekerjaan aku kan terpusat di sini.

Apa sih yang Anda rindukan dari Indonesia?

Aku rindu keluargaku, temen-temenku, sama suasana hidup di sana yang serba mudah.

Memang apa bedanya dibandingkan dengan tempat tinggal Anda sekarang?

Di sini, segala sesuatunya serba Euro. Mahal dong. Dan serba ini, segala sesuatunya lebih rumit orang-orangnya. Kadang-kadang harus bersilat lidah. Supaya mendapatkan sesuatu. Jadi kesannya, kita lebih akal-akalan. Di Indonesia kan segala sesuatunya gampang. Punya anak gampang. Kalau misalnya kerja, ada babysitter, ada orangtua. Di sini kan nggak. Mahal. Belum tentu dapat babysitter yang baik.

Lantas, bagaimana Anda memandang indonesia sekarang?

Yang aku lihat dari sini, Indonesia sedang banyak sialnya. Dari alamnya. Kemarin di Jogja, kemarin tsunami. Cuma sayangnya yang tadinya aku pikir kan, Indonesia itu sedang jatuh. Malah aku pikir, kita harus bangun. Eh aku malah dengar, yang tsunami kemarin masih banyak yang korupsi. Ya ampun, itu uang untuk korban malah dikorupsi. Aku jadi, sayangnya Negara kita tuh sebenarnya Negara yang kaya. Cuma kita tuh nggak bisa ngelolanya. Terlalu banyak orang yang punya mentalitas sangat feodal. Bertahun-tahun dijajah Belanda, sekarang dijajah bangsa sendiri.

Di salah satu tv, Anda bilang tidak mau lagi tinggal di sini. Waktu itu, karena RUU APP akan disahkan. Lantas, alasan utamanya karena karir, atau memang Indonesia sudah tidak nyaman lagi buat Anda?

Aku tidak pernah bilang, tidak mau lagi tinggal di Indonesia. Aku harus lihat dulu, bagaimana sisi ekonomisnya. Bagaimana sisi politiknya. Apakah Negara ini bisa bertoleransi. Kalau masih ada seperti Undang-Undang yang membuat kehidupan artis jadi lebih sempit, aku nggak mau. Kita jadi tidak bebas berkarya, bebas berpikir. Mana mau aku tinggal di Negara seperti itu. Sama saja seperti aku tidak ingin tinggal di Negara yang masih memberi hukuman mati ke seseorang. Karena buat aku, bukan manusia yang berhak atas hidup dan kematian seseorang. Makanya aku tidak bisa tinggal di Amerika. Karena masih ada hukuman mati. Di Indonesia juga.

Prancis bisa memberikan yang Anda harapkan?

Di Prancis sudah tidak ada hukuman mati dari tahun ’70-an. Dan enaknya di Prancis, seseorang berhak untuk berkarya dan membuat sesuatu yang mereka suka. Aku sangat menghargai itu. Cuma sayangnya di Prancis, pajaknya besar sekali. Wuuuuh. Aku bayar pajak bisa lima puluh persen. Jadi kalau tinggal di sini, dapat uang di sini, harus bayar. Walaupun Anda warga Negara Korea atau Cina.

Seberapa penting sih kewarganegaraan buat Anda?

Yang aku nggak sukanya dengan pertanyaan seperti ini, kesannya banyak orang nggak tahu. Padahal aku sudah ke kanan kiri menjelaskan kenapa aku pindah kewarganegaraan. Aku ganti warga Negara karena aku tidak dibantu sama pemerintah Indonesia. Kesuksesanku tidak dibantu sama sekali oleh orang Indonesia. Malah banyak orang Indonesia mengritik aku. Terus, sekarang aku sukses banyak orang bilang, ‘Oh dia seperti kacang lupa kulitnya. Ganti kewarganegaraan. Padahal, sama sekali nggak ada hubungannya dengan itu. Aku tuh kadang-kadang suka menyesal memberi informasi ini, karena banyak orang menuding dan bicara yang nggak nggak. Tapi dari dulu memang sudah seperti ini. Dikritik justru sama orang dari negeri sendiri. Orang lain bilang nggak ada masalah. Tapi buat orang Indonesia ada masalah.

Ada yang mempersoalkan nasionalisme ya?

Karena kan buat kebanyakan orang Indonesia, dan kebanyakan yang ditulis tentang kewarganegaraan, aku tuh dibilang meninggalkan Indonesia, kawin dengan orang bule, terus sekarang sangat sudah tidak Indonesia lagi. Sekarang malah justru akunya meninggalkan kewarganegaraan Indonesia. Buat mereka, aku sudah nggak Indonesia lagi. Padahal, apakah warna buku sekecil itu, yang ukurannya lima belas dan sepuluh centimeter mengukur kenasionalismean seseorang? Kan nggak juga. Kalau segala sesuatu diukur karena ah yang penting dia paspornya masih Indonesia, tapi kelakuannya tuh sangat tidak pro Indonesia, ngomongnya ke-Barat-baratan, terus sangat melecehkan Negara sendiri. Apakah itu lebih penting di mata Indonesia? Apakah lebih penting orang seperti aku? Yang mencoba mengangkat nama Indonesia dari luar, tapi tidak pernah dibantu sedikit pun oleh pemerintah. Malah dibantu Pemerintah Prancis.

Bantuan seperti apa sih yang diharapkan?

Aku tuh ingin dibantu seperti misalnya dipermudah soal visa. Makanya, aku minta ke orang KBRI. Karena orang KBRI banyak fasilitas. Jadi, aku datang ke Pak Dubes, aku tanya, Pak Dubes bisa nggak aku kasih fasilitas tertentu, supaya aku dipermudah setiap kali aku promosi ke Negara-negara. Setiap Senin, aku bangun setengah tujuh pagi, ke kantor-kantor kedutaan asing. Nah itu kan setiap hari. Aku kan harus kerja. Jadi, bukan pekerjaan aku ngantri untuk visa. Malah ada di beberapa Negara yang pasporku ditolak. Aku minta sama Pak Dubes, bisa nggak aku minta fasilitas? Dia malah bilang, ‘Nggak ah nggak bisa. Wong anakku juga nggak dapat kok.’ Memangnya, anaknya Pak Dubes tuh ngapain? Mereka paling sekolah di luar. Aku kan beda.

Perlakuan Pemerintah Prancis berbeda?

Justru aku malah dapat penghargaan. Karena aku mengangkat kultur Prancis di luar. Kebalik banget. Aku setiap kali wawancara dengan wartawan luar, mengangkat nama Indonesia. Aku bela-belain kalau ada masalah. Waktu Playboy kantornya dihancurkan, mereka nanya ke aku. Langsung aku bela-belain sampai berdarah-darah. Nah yang begitu, orang-orang nggak pernah lihat. ‘Kok, kamu ganti warga Negara sih? Nah, masalahnya yang Negara Indonesia kasih ke aku apa? Kenapa selalu akunya dituntut. Aku minta bantuan sekali saja.

Anda sakit hati karena itu?

Nggak. Cuma kaget saja. Kalau aku disinggung masalah ini dengan cara kesannya tuh dilecehkan. Dulu waktu aku pertama kali datang ke Indonesia dengan album pertama, “Snow on the Sahara”. Ada wartawan yang ngomong ke aku pakai bahasa Inggris. Karena mereka pikir aku sudah lupa bahasa Indonesia. Aku merasa tersinggung, sakit hati. Mungkin banyak artis Indonesia yang ngomongnya tuh setiap kali wawancara pakai bahasa Inggris. Setiap dua kata pakai bahasa Inggris, atau mengakhiri kalimatnya dengan kata-kata bahasa Inggris. Aku nggak!

Di negeri sendiri, Anda diperlakukan seperti itu ya?

Dan aku dituding. Karena sudah tidak tinggal di Indonesia lagi. Dan karena aku sudah tidak punya paspor Indonesia. Padahal, itu sama sekali bukan kemauan aku. Jadi, ironisnya tuh begitu. Tapi nggak apa-apa sih. Karena aku sekarang tidak peduli. Aku Cuma peduli sama pendapat keluargaku, teman-temanku, orang-orang yang aku kenal. Selain itu, yang mereka nggak kenal aku, terus ngritik, aku nggak mau dengar. Buat aku, itu bukan sesuatu yang normal. Setiap kali lihat di situs-situs, yang mengritik selalu orang Indonesia. Orang Italia memuji. Orang Amerika memuji. Orang Indonesia, ya ampun, ‘Videonya jelek. Fotonya jelek. Liriknya kok begitu?’ Jadi, aku selalu dikritik sama orang Indonesia. Kan aneh.

Menurut Anda kenapa?

Nggak ngerti. Makanya, aku tuh kesannya nggak mau membikin usaha untuk mereka. Jadi salah kaprah. Kalau aku nggak ngomong, dituding juga. Kalau ngomong, dituding lagi. Jadi, sekarang aku masa bodoh. Ini karirku. Ini hidupku. Pasporku. Aku nggak minta ijin dari siapapun. Sekarang satu-satunya orang yang bisa menolong aku, ya diri aku. Aku nggak mau mendengar kritik-kritik yang nggak membangun. Itu aku masa bodohin. Ya kita balik lagi ke titik awal. Menghargai usaha. Mungkin karena di Indonesia, banyak yang system apresiasinya berbeda. Aku pernah lihat konser orang Indonesia. Banyak yang VIP-nya, sudah pulang. Aku nonton konser salah satu diva. Pak pejabat datangnya telat satu jam. Datang dengan dua belas orang. Itu kan mengganggu orang lain. Di luar lebih bagus ya soal apresiasi?

Jangan salah ya. Nggak semua yang di luar itu lebih bagus. Cuma, karena kita bicara soal apresiasi. Jangan disamaratakan dengan hal lain. Di luar tuh, ada debat. Misalnya, Playboy dibilang jahanam. Mereka terlalu sering dibilang seperti ini. Jadi salah kaprah. Jadi percaya. Padahal yang lebih parah dari Playboy lebih banyak. Sayangnya, tidak ada tempat untuk berdebat. Kalau di sini, kalau ada satu topic yang akan mengganggu. Orang-orang tukar pikiran. Debat. Masing-masing memberi opini. Jadi semua tahu. Di Indonesia kan nggak. Ini menjatuhkan perempuan lah. Ya nggak dong. Sayang aja.

Bagaimana pendapat Anda soal banyak musisi indonesia yang bilang ingin go international?

Lah wong akunya dulu juga begitu. Yang jelas, sekarang jangan ngomong aja. Bertindak.

Apa kritik Anda untuk industri musik di Indonesia?

Aku sama sekali nggak punya kritik-kritik yang apa-apa. Aku bukan pakar musik. Yang aku lihat cuma, ya ada tempat ada market untuk semua jenis musik. Yang aku sayangkan, jangan sampai pemerintah Indonesia menghalangi musikalitas seorang artis dan juga kehidupan artis. Pokoknya, dari cara dia mengekspresikan diri. Apakah dia dalam musik, dalam kata-kata, cara dia bergaya. Soalnya sebagai seorang musisi, artis kan kesannya bebas. Seperti pelukis, seperti pemahat. Pokoknya kalau dalam bidang seni, harus dilihat dan dinilai dari mata seni.

Apakah Anda mendokumentasikan karya-karya Anda dengan baik?

Nggak juga. Sebenarnya itu sama sekali bukan pekerjaannya seorang artis. Itu bukan tugas aku.Aku sama sekali nggak begitu koleksi. Justru banyak fansku yang koleksi. Mereka kasih lihat aku, ya ampun kamu dapat ini dari mana?

Sepayah itukah pria Indonesia sehingga anda memilih pria asing?

Nggak juga. Soalnya kan kalau kita jatuh cinta, itu tidak diatur. Dulu waktu masih SMP suka ditanya, ingin pacar yang gimana? Inginnya yang tinggi, yang lucu, segala macam. Itu kan kita tidak tahu kalau kita jatuh cinta. Apakah kita bisa mendisiplinkan hati? Nggak juga kan? Dan kebetulan karena nggak ada orang Indonesia yang naksir aku.

Apa bedanya pria asing dengan pria Indonesia?

Nggak tahu. Wong dulu pacaran dengan orang Indonesia waktu SMP dan SMA. Mungkin kalau pria Indonesia itu, suka sok kuasa. Segala sesuatunya harus minta ijin ke saya. Makanya, banyak sekali pertanyaan ke aku dari wartawan Indonesia, ‘Mbak suami mendukung nggak sih kegiatan mbak?’ Ya ampuun. Kalau suamiku nggak mendukung, ya suamiku aku pecat. Dianya kerja untuk aku. Jadi, di kultur Indonesia itu, segala sesuatu harus lewat suami dulu. Dibina supaya lelaki kuasanya lebih besar daripada perempuan. Perempuan harus cantik, supaya suaminya setia. Nah, kalau suaminya gemuk, nggak merawat diri. Istrinya bisa lari dong. Makanya, di generasi aku, kami menuntut yang sama dari laki-laki. Kami juga ingin laki-laki yang sosialitasnya bagus, yang bisa masak, yang bisa jaga anak, dan juga jagoan di tempat tidur. Masa kami diminta yang sama, laki-lakinya leha-leha begitu.

Sikap seperti ini sudah ada dari dulu, atau setelah tinggal di luar?

Ini kan setelah jadi dewasa. Segala sesuatu kan proses hidup. Dari pengalaman hidup, dari contoh-contoh yang dilihat dari kiri kanan, apakah keluarga, atau teman-teman. Aku kan sempat asosial sekali. Aku sangat hidup di sekelilingku, yang kawin cerai kawin cerai, mereka seperti apa hidupnya. Nah, dengan begitu aku sangat menekankan bahwa aku menuntut yang sama dari laki-laki. Dan buat aku, adil. Masa sih, kita jangan sampai lelaki menuntut keperawanan perempuan, sementara kita tidak bisa menuntut keperawanan laki-laki. Pokoknya, jangan sampai hak kemunafikan itu tidak boleh hanya di lelaki saja. Perempuan juga boleh.

Aku suka Peterpan. Aku suka melodinya dia. Aku suka suaranya Agnes Monica. Aku suka Candil. Ooh. Dia kan Mariah Carey-nya Indonesia. Aku nge-fans banget sama Seurieus. Mereka musikalitasnya oke. Tapi menghibur. Lucu, tapi serius. Pokoknya waktu mereka bilang, aliran musiknya Happy Metal. Emang bener sih. [tertawa]. Itu konsep musik yang oke. Aku punya album mereka semua.

Facts

Jackie Chan introduced several surprising facts in this movie. Being a martial actor for decades, he is now moving into drama. For fans who are highly anticipating for his fast movements, kicks, jumps here and there, it's not a good recommendation to watch this. After watching this movie, I did not see any kungfu action here. Once being attacked, he keeps running and running the whole time. He did rifles, guns. The whole 'incidents' will be what you usually see in western movies. No kungfu at all, but does not mean it's a bunch of crying scene here. No, there is no sad crying scene here.

The second new fact is, he turns to be a bad person here, yeah extremely bad. It's all about crime. Stealing expensive items, doing tricks in his gaming center, selling fake phone cards & credit cards, and many many many more deceptions done to get money, power. You will see he kills several big bosses here for the sake of money, and maybe, love. Is to sleep with prostitutes considered a crime?? lol. He did many strange scene never done before in his career.

Storyline

I personally get difficult to get into the time dimension at first, or maybe I'm too fool for that, not sure. The story then begins in 1990s where many Chinese immigrants are planning to illegally enter Japan. I really get confused in the beginning but I guess the reason is for a better living. Once a small opportunity comes, finally they arrived there. Chan's girlfriend Xu Jinglei (as XiuXiu a.k.a Yuko) went there for a job leaving Chan alone. For years he went back and forth tried to get contact with his beloved but finally they get lost. With full of confusion he tried hard to get to Japan, where countless of problems come one after another. He found his good friend Daniel Wu (as Jie) and many other friends. They end up a group of Chinese struggling to face local gangster there. The biggest one in this story is called Yakuza.

Ending

I can't believe it. The chinese group comes to Japan just to put their lives in the end. No one of Chan's Chinese friends in the gang left. It's more tragic that some of them end by killing each another, where before they struggle for friends' lives even risking ownselfs. Daniel Wu's life is the most tragic one.

Casts

I dont find any special acts from Jackie Chan. I'm just impressed with Daniel Wu's acting here. It may be caused of his role which needs more energy to put into. Chan's role is just so so for me. Masaya Kato's face really suits his role...lolz The same thing also with Xu Jinglei.

Message

In the end a sentence is displayed. Hmm, I question why they try the easiest effort for it. That's about a real story of illegal Chinese immigrants secretly moved into Japan during 1990s.

In my personal thoughts, it's about an extremely difficult life of foreigners in Japan. Though Japan was already a much modern country during the period, they cannot afford any foreigners to be aside. The film is not pointing at racisms but the Chinese foreigners really get suffered even till the end of their lives. Second may should be about friendships, betrayal. Third is what always exists in poor countries. In this film Chan reminded her girlfriend not to move to Japan since she will never come back once succeeded and she still never believed it. Finally she really did not move back.

Violence

Absolutely not for children, believe it. I try to close my eyes when Wu's hand is slaughtered in an extreme way, I never imagined before. And then that shattered hand is crashed. I cannot sleep peacefully in the night >< though I loved his acting in this scene. He gets it. In the end, one in the gang slaughters his friend's neck. hhuuuufffff...... This is what Jackie Chan delivered to us for exchange of kungfu, lolzzz..

Sacredly Agnezious

Perhaps this is one of the most anticipated album after Peterpan's Hari Yang Cerah (2007) which was released in a gap of more than one year than previous album, plus they took almost a year hiatus during that time. Sacredly Agnezious is released nearly 3.5 years after Agnes' second album. The first single was introduced one year ago and the album name was announced several months after. This album also her remarks as a song composer, where she never did in before.

Background

I remembered Indo's VJ Daniel mentioned many times during June/July 2008 in MTV Ampuh that Agnes was working on two albums, one indonesian and one international, in which she would be the producer, first breakthrough for her. In August finally she officially announced title of her new album, and surprisingly, there was no updated information about the album, till March 2009.

First new song revealed is 'Matahariku', as soundtrack for her TV serial in early 2008. Being surprised that the song got so high popularity that reached ringbacktone number of around 1 million, the label company immediately produced an MV for the song, resulted in her simplest video so far. Second single is 'Godai Aku Lagi'. The main difference from 'Matahariku' is that GAL was released as the expected strongest song in the new album, not by chance. The MV was released in August'08 and together with 'Matahariku', both songs are released as a single titled 'NEZ'. This single also remarked that her album was postponed without any valid reasons.

1. Godai Aku Lagi
Agnes' first own composed song. I listened to this song firstly around late July/early August '08 from radio. First impression was, 'what song is this?!#$%@ '. However later I found that the melody is so catchy and strong enough. I think the song might be better if the whole main background music was Pop-R&B instead of electro/disco/Hip-Hop, because this kind of music will not get into Indonesian music, at all, ever. I love the song more after the video was created. It's cool but the problem is, am I watching a few seconds of Rihanna here??

2. Janji Janji
Simply love it. The only song that reminds me of her previous album. The rests are new styles. I hope this will be the 4th single. Sadly this is rather disappointed that in this album there is no huge upbeat song like 'Bilang Saja' or 'Tak Ada Logika'.

3. Hanya Menunggu
Electro/HipHop genre which is now so popular in the US. Actually there are several genres in this song. I get bored in the middle. The ending gets interesting though. But, hey I hear 'baby boy' in the end, it's Beyonce's trademark, but okay whatever. Weakest upbeat song in this album, but not that bad.

4. Teruskanlah
3rd single. Its music video was released together with the album. I love the high pitch in the last reff. Nothing interesting actually.

5. Coz I Love You
Most beautiful , relaxing song in the album, in terms of music, lyric, and voice. She sang this so softly that the first verse reminds me of Sherina lol. I wish either this or 'Rapuh' will be the next ballad single. She composed the song together with Sandy, but I guess the main melody was done by Sandy.

6. A. G. N. E. Z
Interesting song. So much English used here. Although composed together with Yudis, I guess she wrote the whole lyric. I am wondering who a rapper featuring in this song is.

7. Berlebihan
Another Sandy's composition, but somehow I get bored for first one minute. The rest is so nice. Maybe because I do not like jazzy song lol. Nothing special for me in this song except her vocal performance. As the title says, it's a six-minutes length song!!

8. Matahariku
Absolutely the best ballad, personally I think her best ballad ever as well as her best performance for any ballads. I wonder how come the label could not predict this song to be a huge hit. They did the video so instant. Although she appears beautifully, this song reserved much better quality video than that. Her vocal here is very dynamic. Sometimes I think it's too much. I don't know it's a good sign or bad, but for me it's perfect. I think she recorded this song many times, and the result is perfect, but she herself cannot sing this song live that dynamic. Love the intro, verse, chorus, interlude, and perfect ending. Just perfect. Surprise!! The composer is a new comer in the industry...

Bali!!!! Yeah I imagined Balinese culture everytime listening to this song, makes me want to go there one day T_T. Sang (no, lipsync actually) first time in October'08 Asia Song Festival in South Korea, she showed another self-composed song by her. Maybe a new innovation. She mentioned it's a mix of many genres. For me, Erwin Gutawa's arrangement affects it more pop than should be, although his arrangement is extremely great. The music sounds using many traditional instruments. First part of the lyric is Indonesian, followed by English in the rest. I wish this is the 4th single, but because of too many English used, I doubt it will. My only problem is, what is the meaning/message of this song???

I always think hundred times to post something about this criminal case. There are already too many speculations popped up around blogs, forums, etc. I was before in hope of Singapore police quick investigations, let what the univ President said not to speculate, and said nothing to any single person, but they are, even local media, not cooperating well.

Today's univ biweekly newspapers are coming out and one article, a bit represents all nationalities except Indonesian, is all pointing to us, his friends for sensationalize the news, creating out the whole speculations, telling different persons different stories. Are we wrong?? The main point now is, back 3-4 weeks before, the whole world was suddenly staring at us, at a friend of yours, who was reported to stab his prof and jumped. Get the point?? At the first few hours right after the incident, even the victim's friend posted in facebook how shocked he is, "never imagine a friend you see everyday can do that". See that? Everyone wants to sit down, and pray for him, wait for any news and not speculate.

The first day passed with shocks, and unexpectedly some persons started speculating and continuing the buzz. All people may see them all crazy. Then after several days, local media rectified their previous statements that he actually did NOT jump. How come they put wrong statements? People are questioning. Why did you put any judgments before even a single proof? Well no one can remake the buzz again so that everyone again look at you and you can say, 'hey the news was wrong!!'. What done is done. Then the questions will come, if it is not the media who is wrong, then who? Did you get the source from someone? Then who is he? I will never let the lier guy rest in peace . . .

Imagine this happened to your friends, people may not point at a name, but they will say, how can a Singaporean, how can a Indonesian, how can that nationality. . . and you got no reaction?? Are you saying, 'well, let those stupid people say anything about this case, let what has done done, let us now let our beloved friend rest in peace' . . .Be realistic man!!!

I got mad with someone said 'they sensationalize', hey who's started?! At least those people did not mention that they were right, even if they intentionally put fake things, it's forum, it's blog, but it's the media who spread the fake news, yeah they are the FIRST!

Lastly, think logically, the stabbed was getting well very soon and surely at that time all people were waiting for confirmations, but he disappeared??? If you want to take just a few seconds to think - which is the most difficult activity people would do, makes them lazy to think - , you will realize that you will be extremely wondering if the people around will still keep quiet and do nothing for one month. I know that I know nothing at all for this, but guys, if you know nothing, never bother of persons spread the things on the Internet, at least, they know better than you ><

A Feeling of Regret

Back to around 2 - 2.5 years from now.

It's my happy high school time where the whole class made a joke everyday. There's a quite shocking news from a well-known university in US. Yeah u all must know that, what else can make a university headline in all news around the world other than that. Simply the class made a joke about that without me as an exception. People will make a joke of something far from them or they never think can happen around them.

Yeah that's what I felt during that time.

As u know what I'm going to say. The same thing surprisingly happened here, the place where I studied. I even cannot think what will happen to students waiting for their entrance tests right now, what the people around here will perceive me, as the same nationality as him, don't know whether it's important ~ but same race as well. I felt regret that I ever made a joke of that during high school and now I know that I should not do that lolz~~~~~

Yeah can feel the mourning atmosphere here. Half of my facebook status filled with condolences, sympathy, etc etc.

A group of students from senior high school were joking about that ~like what I did during high school lolzzzz~ from some time till someone stopped them.

In a huge forum, someone -admitted to be the suspect's friend during high school- post it and less than 3 hours it immediately became the hottest post. It's not wrong to post a huge buzz as information to be spread among but to put his own opinion~speculation is crazy, even the media haven't put any confirmation about that and he far away proudly told the speculation. Even the suspect's friends here stayed calm.

I can say he's proud of the news and I ever felt the same, when a buzz comes near me at that time I felt a bit spirited to spread the news everywhere-whatever the news is-, you may not feel it but there's a feeling of proud, happy that you know better than others, proud that you are closer with him compared to persons asking you.

Out of topic, maybe this is the hundredth or thousandth times I felt disturbed by Facebook. It's not like what I ever post (for this case only, actually I still do), a group of stupid and extremely idle people make a bunch of comments day by day for only a single photo. It's almost one week already and everyday I open my Facebook there's 20s-50s announcements and all from the same photo. Even I don't know what the picture is about. Now I will NEVER know if someone comments in my OWN photos, because of the bitches doing not important think and the whole things in my announcement full with those bitches. I swear if not because all my friends joined FB I will never get back to that site.

Valentine is a special day for couples to express their loves each other. Yeah you should know much more than I do so....

Actually this corresponds with a blog with one of my friends also today (dont be angry with me lol ~~). I do not know whether it's just me who is too less romantic, or some people look too much upon this v-day, but I feel so.

Everyone must agree that it's a special day, for once a year. Because every couple showed their love relationship without a shy since it's a special day for them, those who are single might envy them. Sometimes I feel some teenagers view this day too far ~or again, maybe it's just me who is too ~dont-care-wtf-it-is~ (can someone tell me??lol).

That everyone realizes what day it is, I sometimes feel that it's not that romantic. If you want to express your true feeling to your beloved one, then -let's say a girl- she might already know that you will do it in v-day. It's very normal but I just feel it's not surprised anymore, not so special anymore to do it in v-day, but unlike me, many people still feel the same thing year by year. If you do sth special for someone, then she ~again just IMO~ wont feel to be the happiest girl in the world at that time, as millions of people in the world feel the same or maybe much more than it. I'd probably do it in his bday or any special day never be thought of her.

I never feel controlled by those special days. I wouldn't mind sleeping on the new year countdown -although never did that :) -, wouldn't mind just staying at home not collecting angpau in front of tv from morning to morning again in chinese new year -although almost never did that :) -, wouldn't be burdened of being single and get/give nothing whenever valentine comes.

Just never get the point why a girl may sit sadly -'mourning'- in her room when she has no bf in vday, so do some boys. Is it just me who is too crazy for not feeling the same way?? I need someone advices right now T_T

Queue

It's about 7 months ago, I got from my uncle, happened in a famous huge shopping centre in Singapore, maybe less than 1 minute..

It's such a long queue in an afternoon at the cashier. A man at most front of the queue was about to put his shopping goods on the cashier table for payment. Suddenly an old lady came to the cashier and put her shopping cart on the cashier table and stood there waiting for the cashier to process payment. The cashier then told the old lady to queue first and she replied that she's on hurry and had no time for queuing. Maybe the cashier was afraid to refuse and put the old lady in anger, hence said, "If the man behind you give a permission for you to proceed, than it's fine, otherwise you still have to queue no matter what." She really asked the man but the man quickly answered, "If you asked me before, I would have replied yes."

I don't feel it's important anymore to ask my uncle what happened next.

President

I often think to be a President is one of the toughest job existing. If you ever feel how tough it is to be a President of an organization, or a manager of a department, or a CEO of a company, then that's what it is when you want to get into politic world, except double the effort, burden. That's about the same in most countries, but not always means the more bucks you will get. You have to follow the culture of the country to get into high position before then get a higher power to change the culture.

If I said President is might be the toughest job, then politic may be the toughest field. Even to be a lawyer is tough. When one just graduated from university he will have to compete with others in that field, and there is no senior or junior there. All fields have about the same difficulties to succeed in - given you have a distinctive level of ability in it- but I found many lawyers not recommending their children to be lawyers. People want their children to be doctors, pilots, engineers, scientist, professor, artists, etc - do not consider any kinds of negative professions thiefs etc etc here :) - but not with politicians. It's a special field, it's all about culture, society, and power. When you want to be an engineer, pilot, artists, it's all about how much money you have to spend in (studying, establishing first career), your interests, your ability, your connections with other people, your level of intelligence + hardworking, your working experiences, but politics has more requirements for you to get in, again, depends on the culture.

When it's in America while black and white still exist as a matter, black people suffer in politics, when it's in Indonesia while chinese or native still exist as a matter, waiting for a chinese descendant to be a President is more or less the same like waiting for an Obama to be a US President. When it's in Singapore where chinese or indians or malays does not matter, then it will be different again. No other field has the same situation as this.

Back to topic.

I said it's tough not only because President is the most recognized people, or has the most power, but more than that. When Oprah strongly says an A in society, then it will likely that A will happen then. Everybody will listen everything she does - although not always follow her. However when it comes to President the situation is different.

When Michael Jackson decided to move to other religion and even changed his name people may love him more or even curse him, when Madonna believes in one religion many people disagree with many people will curse her, when Zidane did something huge in World Cup watched by billion people then it's became a huge deadline in media, but for President it's different.

People may chase for celebrities but people have different celebrities to deal with. When they feel tired of Amy Winehouse buzz they will no longer even want to know about it, but when it comes for President, everyone will look at you, no matter they like you or not, no matter what you are doing, good or bad.

When a prominent person in earth died it may be because of a crazy fan or a huge hater but once he deals with politics, the situation will be much different. There are still many rumours of the death of Princess Diana although it's a long long case. After decades, there are still rumours of the death of Marilyn Monroe. Although it's told about suicide, but rumous said her affairs with a much well-known politician contributed in her death. Many people wonder about how long a US President will live - already many cases in it.

Back talking about culture, when it's in Indonesia where many people are less educated, they will not understand what actions a Presidens do. When it's tougher for them - where most likely happens - then they will complain, even when you are right, but it's most likely you are false, no matter. When Indonesia's SBY increased fuel price as high as many people did not predict before, hundred millions people complained without knowing why he did so, but they know that it is not good for them. Then when he lowered fuel price only a bit, people will again complained. This happened when General Election was about to come but he has no other choice. Even this fuel price case will be difficult for him to be elected this year. As long as the decision is tough for society, they will not choose you and it's the nature of Indonesia as they are no longer believe in government and that's what every Indonesian President has to face. The challenge is how to change this society nature. How to make people believe in you.

Still looking at Indonesia - and culture, it is very unique and even extremely too unique to govern. No other countries as high populated as hundred millions people separated in about 10 main islands located too far each another, with extremely too many culture and norms to deal with, not to include it as one to have most natural disasters. It's already a common saying that Indonesia still exists in its common form (although losing Timor Leste) is much much a great miracle. US 50s states are connected each another but Japan's are not, but Indonesia is too large and its islands are separated too far away. To build a Singapore like what it is now is a proud of Lee Kuan Yew but if Indonesia is already what people hope must be a proud of dozens people. Even if we do not consider the natural disasters - it's not sure whether other Presidents around the world can govern it better. Corruptions everywhere for decades still has to be included as one part to deal with.

Now it faces difficulties. Society already considered goverment as rubbish. Almost every actions taken caused demonstrations. Java island as the most populated one may have more or less the same culture in general, but they have to consider others like Sumatra Kalimantan Sulawesi. When they take actions about pornography - something related to culture, it may be good for those main islands but people against it and protest that the action is not good for Bali and Papua. When they have to focus on too many problems in its capital Jakarta - floods traffic - other provinces like Aceh or Papua urged for their independence but they -and most people- hope Timor Leste is the last one to do so. It has an excellent side of tourism but has to deal with the terrorism issue. When everythings are likely to be settled fine in the place where it should be, then a huge tsunami take away thousands of people. It's not a joke but the President is still the person most likely to be pointing at even about the natural disasters. Purely natural disasters.

I'm talking too much about Indonesia but that's only what I know =D

Lucks

Some time ago I got a fellowship activity near here ~ and it's just a bit special for me that I can refresh what I have passed in the past which brought me here. And I sometimes feel my life is very flat (but interesting =D) but actually there's many things make it wonderful, either in good times or bad times.

In short, I shared about how I can get here, to tertiary education. I'm always thinking it's full of lucks. It's like a process and if that process is cut down into many events happened sequentially, and if every events have many possible choices I would go through, then at that time, I passed every events with the best possible choices. So if the events are multiple choices questions, then I score everything perfectly. If there is only one wrong answer, then the result will be much different. That's how I call it full of lucks.

Right after graduating from junior high school I had no choices but followed my parents advice to take an extra course of A' level for preparing to get into the university I may choose. Shortly, I had an intense training for full 3 years, both A' level specially Maths even with more than one teachers, plus a number of experience I got from a small Maths competition in schools with my friends. So I practiced that at both school and home and my life looks like full of Maths for that 3 years and in addition, I never myself gave a break for an English extra course. So Maths and English were to run concurrently and continuously.

Well now after the intro, in the end of semester 5 (last 2 sem) in my senior high I applied to the university. One for it, one specially for scholarship, and one for other university. And as I feared to happen, because of my just-fine grades during senior high I was rejected by the 2 but still waiting for the former one. The bad thing was that the rejection was a rejection for me to join the test. Even I could not join the test. That's fine because I knew the reason, already very clear, no doubt at all, because of my grades. Then comes the result for the former one. But wait these are the first lucks.

Briefly, I am in a small town so for years the entrance test was always conducted outside, so we have to compete with other students from other cities even to join the test. Because of any understandable reason ~ cause it'll be too long the test was conducted in my town (I thought it's city =p ). And this absolutely will be helpful so much for me that I had a bad score. How luck it is that even the bacth after me did not get that opportunity, which is, they will surely decreased the requirements because they could accept more people for having test. I never thought that even I could not take this advantage, I wasn't accepted even for test. I want to say but don't know to whom, why I cannot even try my best first to know that this is really not my fate, not to be my future, not my capabilities, not this not that. I can do nothing but just to support my friends. Only 6 persons including me not approved.

A few days after my instructor kindly recommended me back to the university for the hope of joining the test. After a full of hope waiting for it it's already a luck for me for having approved, together with one friend, even my cousin with grades much much greater than me didn't, while I'm still wondering till now what's the mysteries behind it.

Quickly to the entrance test, again by luck but for this time I was very sure I put whole my efforts in it such that I could do every questions without any one doubt. Although no one knows the score but I could put the lowest boundary of it. After the English test, then comes the Physics test. With that not too difficult question, I never imagined that I could not even score any 1 mark in it. I'm till now half sure that I got zero mark or may be a small bit higher. I thought myself if I were them, how come I approved a student into an engineering course with zero mark of its Physics although good mark in Maths. During the waiting-for-result period I did not blame myself and satisfied with all happen so far but never imagined that extremely bad Physics test. Even I finally find one other kind of scholarship but I could not apply because of its technical requirement.

And as you know -but no one knows the real reason- I was accepted. Even with no scholarship but it's my first choice course. I believe one of the main reason was the first choice of the courses. Without exaggerated, if the first choice was not Computer Science ~ an engineering course but no Physics in it~ then I had not been here right now, typing a blog with a full of spirit to know what's going on tomorrow in my class. I remembered months before I joined an IQ test but the result was so strange for me and didn't help so much for me in choosing courses. And till the end I had to make a final decision. That's around 0320 pm on my bed in my room, in front of a paper written 7 courses I had to cut down to 5 and sort it 1st to 5th. With a head full of uncertainties the arrangement was such that the 1st course is Computer Science and other 4 are 'real' engineering courses. From young till now I still want Architecture but if the university had that course I'm not sure the final result will be the same.

The last thing was about application system. In my batch they offered 3 choices whether we woud like to apply for scholarship only, or scholarship but loan is fine, or full tuition is fine. We suggested it's three levels - high to down- the mark we have to get, if we chose the first one then we had to ensure that we had an excellent mark. I chose the middle one and I would not think they will approve me if I chose the first one and as the result, I got no scholarship but loan, that's another luck.

During first year here and looked back to the past, compared to the present, looked to my other friends around the world, I'm so granted by GOD for having a course I enjoyed so much with a lot of nice friends I hoped I got and I did and a room I enjoyed as well, I thanks Him so much for what he arranged for me. The more I enjoy my life here the more blessed I think He gave me. And because of this I never complained anythings - to myself or Him or parents - when I got any difficulties. I'm already given such a nice set and I just thought what I should do tomorrow to solve every problems and try not to stress myself, because this is a gift from Him.

About 5-10 minutes saying about this, one of friends responded that I'm looking down much to myself. I agree with him and will have to change that nature but for this journey I will still -and always- regard it as a road full of lucks because I know everything happens at that time would not come without lucks and blessings from Him.

My Top 3 Web Sites

Living in a small but lovely place far from mall shopping center etc etc outside, without televisions inside room, stuck me in front of fast internet connection. Hmm, it's not so fast, but it's really fast enough for chatting, browsing, or even gaming, but for downloading, you must have a lot of patience while downloading a movie or music album. This reminds me of being aware of piracy, haha...

Then internet is the only easiest and most accessible media for my entertainment. And these are some websites I will surely visit everyday, at least twice per day. I want to post more but am right now too sleepy to put more. I wish I can do it next time ^^ I will just put the top three first.

I'm not a programmer or computer developer, these are some of my personal comments on each sites. Why need it? I visit it hundred times and may have my time on each accumulated hundred hours, so I hope you guys can really make your choice whether to waste your time on unimportant things. These are very personal comments so don't be angry if you are a lover of that website, because so am I ^^

1. Gmail

That is today's new homepage of GMail.com
Gmail is simply a mail service website like other familiar websites like Yahoo! or Hotmail.
The first time I create an account on gmail is for moving my groups' emails into this.

It supports something like cascading mails, if an email from a friend in that group is replied by other group members then there will be like (2) sign after the title of the message. In short it is a bit similar to forums, and hence you can regard each message in your inbox as one thread.

If I use it in other mailing websites, each postings is considered as one message and when you read the message replying previous message you might have to search for it again, scroll it down and try to remember what it mentions before scrolling up and getting the meaning and replying it. It does help me so much =D

One thing a bit annoying is

this page. It's loading page which sometimes takes only 1 - 2 seconds but most times it takes more than 5 seconds !! And sometimes when my internet gets into trouble I even cannot open it. I think they should not have that loading page except gmail loads too many things, which I think might be the reason.

Other thing is the thread one. One thread contains a maximum of 100 messages. I hope it can support more.

And the good thing is that there is no navigation page (to other page) once you reply a message. You will immediately get your message below the message you reply. The other one is about the time duration, the system will automatically and continuously (and smoothly) updates the time duration of all messages from now, for example, posted 1 minutes ago, 10 minutes ago, 1 hour 1 day ago ago etc etc.

And I like it as there is almost no (or really no??) advertisements in it. Simple and not wasting time.

2. Facebook

Number 1 social networking sites right now in terms of users.

I get through Friendster for years before trying Facebook while searching for something new.

My impression at first is, hmm, well, maybe I have to get familiar with it, then second time, I try this thing, hmm ok2 I get it, second day, a week after, I may get addiction a bit, a month after, and so on until now, and I do not need to think twice that this is simply

the WORST social networking site that is much populated.

Many friends got into it and I tried. From the first I thing it's me who is fool enough for getting confused of good features in it. Yeah it does really have many good features, but those really enforce me to stay with it for such a long time, and unfortunately it serves too many unimportant things.

Sorry to say that it is really bad both technically and socially. Ya I really feel the bad impact of it, some of you may think I'm somehow get it wrong but I does not like it from the first and now I admit that I'm not wrong.

Let's see one by one
STATUS

Why do Facebook really bother of others status?
It's the page you see after login and it's the HOME page.
You will see many information inside those NewsFeed tab.
It's something like My Network Activity in Friendster, but here is better, it provides more detail information and sort it by latest time.

Then as I see that page everyday for hundred times I start to realize how bad it is. You will see the sophisticated things inside NewsFeed but once scoll down, it's really like a huge can of garbage.
There are too many things inside,
information of your friends changing status,
adding new videos or pictures,
adding new notes,
x number of your friends are tag in an album or a video,
one of your friend commented on other friends' videos or photos or notes or changing status or walls or whatever comments you needn't know,
your friends are now friends with xxx through ..... ,
even there are advertisements!!!

Why I say garbage? Facebook does not need an expert to see how it seems a garbage, you can see clearly how not important those information are.
Well, your friends change their status, then what do you need to know? They are your friends but how if you have 500 friends, 1000 friends? In one time it attracts you to add more friends (what I say "your friends are now friends with ..." but at the same time you will get a bunch of information of that one new friend each time he/she add a photo or get comments etc etc etc etc. Whereas you might not be so close with that new friend.

There is some tab "Status Updates" but still, in this NewsFeed, they combine the whole things and the result is that garbage..
The same as this announcements, it is labeled RED to force me to click on it to see some important and some rubish information and click it once more to close it. And this happens each time I login to facebook.
In top right corner there are a box similar to this but contains some different and some the same information. It's even worse, I have to click on it and navigate to other page and am enforced to read all of information, whether accept friend request (this is important), accept application, accept (whatever) from (whoever friends) of (whatever) applications <-- this one is the worst thing of Facebook. If I ignore it, the things will accumulate and I cannot get rid of it. Again, I have to do this each time login to facebook. At least 10 seconds gone only for things I do not want to. And as I use this many times per day, those annoying 10 seconds are really terrified. Same thing happens when you see your PROFILE, inside your WALL you will again see the rubish. And one of them is...
yeah, I really call it rubish.. And my PROFILE page is really a garbage full of rubish.

That is FRIENDS page and they sort it by default in STATUS UPDATES and I have to click on EVERYONE to see all my friend. I do not know why I get so annoyed to many things but, they sort FRIENDS by last name, and for me, personally, this is really annoying. I see my friends' name by first name, then middle, then last, but they sort it by last name.

Next is about the application..
That box is put on the top rows because it is the main difference of Facebook from others. Yeah it does have many good applications, from games to other applications :)
I like that some applications do not need to navigate each time you click something (like browser gaming does), so it is fast enough, although it need a long time for loading, but when you get into you will play freely without any disturbance or any unnecessary waiting.

However some applications are really disturbing like this

If I'm a beginner, I will surely be shocked by a number of strange buttons, and the bad thing is, the BIGGEST button and the most apparent one is NEXT (in this one example) and you will need long time to notice that it is an ADVERTISEMENT!! How come there is an advertisement in the middle of the box of one application?

Sometimes I'm thinking, they want me to get into that application but they OFFER me other applications, so what they want me to do?

In that example there is chat room provided by meebo..

Wow, I cannot imagine how many of advertisements I have seen after I log out. Don't forget that there are still a bunch of other advertisements inside each applications.

Other things..
When you post a comment, it needs very much less time compared to others, hmm, like friendster for example. And, err, I think still much faster than Gmail.

You can also chat through Facebook. I think that's a really wonderful idea..

You can know ANY things your friends just done, but you cannot know ANY things about other people not yet your friends, except only one photo and several main information. Each time I want to know whether that one is my friend or not, I have to judge by its photo and very limited information, or I have to add him first regardless my friend or not. And each time facing this I always reminded of leaving facebook, although there are many good features it has.

Other than applications, Facebook is really fast in navigating through one page to another page.

3. Friendster

Number is very sensitive to human eyes (according to my thought lol) and for having no numbers in it, I do not feel annoyed by those NEW bulletins or apps. I leave them each time I see that (except birthdays and messages) and if it keeps accumulating it does not matter at all.

Compared to facebook that has numbers, you will think of decreasing the number, feeling a bit guilty for leaving it accumulating, but you already know that you really do not need that things.

Again, sorry for comparing, the difference between Facebook and Friendster.
But in this case I prefer Facebook lol
This features make me think many times before browsing to special friends (either enemies or not known people etc).

When I clicked My Profile I can see the HOME page of mine which I can edited myself.
When I put my cursor on it there will be other options, and one feature I like is : Blogs !!
If I do not want to play any applications, I will NEVER click MyApps tab there except I want to.
In MyTools options there, hmm, I think Facebook is much more complete !

Facebook makes me want to get rid of NewsFeed but Friendster does not attract me at all to see its MyNetworkActivity feature. Both have their own uniqueness but I choose Friendster's MyNetworkActivity.

Kendro Hendra, pria kelahiran Palembang, 31 Desember 1955, orang Indonesia yang mampu menciptakan aplikasi peranti bergerak yang memungkinkan sebuah ponsel lebih bermakna dan bergaya. Apa yang Kendro ciptakan bukan sekadar dolanan, tetapi sebuah aplikasi yang memungkinkan ponsel memiliki tingkat keamanan tinggi, meski dicuri orang. Mungkin harga sebuah Nokia communicator sebagai devices "tidak seberapa" dibandingkan data-data yang tersimpan di dalamnya, entah teks, foto, atau video. Jika data rahasia turut lenyap seiring hilangnya ponsel, maka celakalah. Kendro menciptakan hal-hal kecil yang tidak banyak dipikirkan orang, tetapi bermanfaat bagi banyak orang.

"Salah satu peranti yang saya ciptakan untuk menyelamatkan data yang hilang itu bernama AirGuard, yang sudah ditanamkan di ponsel communicator Nokia. Saya bisa menghubungi pencuri telepon, meski dia sudah mengganti simcard-nya dengan nomor lain," kata Kendro saat ditemui di arena Nokia World 2007 di Amsterdam, Belanda, 5 Desember lalu. Sebagai mitra, Kendro yang membangun perusahaan InTouch itu hadir atas undangan Nokia.

InTouch adalah satu dari sedikit perusahaan komunikasi dan informasi Indonesia dengan reputasi internasional. Kantor pemasaran perusahaan yang didirikan tahun 1996 itu berada di Singapura. Di Indonesia, InTouch mempekerjakan sekitar 60 karyawan yang setiap hari berkutat menciptakan peranti lunak.

Lisensi peranti lunak yang memiliki kata depan "Air" selain AirGuard tersebut antara lain AirAlbum, AirFax, AirRadio, dan AirVouchers. Tetapi, aplikasi paling luas dan banyak digunakan adalah SettingsWizard dan S80-DataMover yang dilisensi Nokia secara global untuk dimasukkan dalam setiap ponsel Symbian S60 Nokia. Kini, temuan Kendro itu diterjemahkan ke dalam 127 bahasa.

SettingsWizard adalah peranti lunak yang ditanamkan di ponsel Nokia, di mana saat pemilik ponsel memasukkan simcard dari operator seluler mana pun, ponsel itu otomatis bisa men-setting sendiri, baik SMS, MMS, e-mail, maupun GPRS, sehingga tidak harus diketik ulang. Demikian juga S80-DataMover yang memungkinkan pemindahan data secara otomatis dari satu ponsel ke ponsel lain atau dari satu communicator ke communicator lain, juga tanpa harus mengetik ulang.

"Banyak orang enggak percaya bahwa itu aplikasi buatan orang Indonesia. Dengan aplikasi yang diterjemahkan ke dalam 127 bahasa, menunjukkan orang Indonesia punya kemampuan," kata Kendro yang mempekerjakan dua orang Singapura sebagai tenaga pemasaran global bagi produk-produk InTouch.

Membangun perusahaan

Dilahirkan di Palembang tahun 1955, Kendro yang kini lebih sering mukim di Singapura itu bukan orang kemarin sore yang serta-merta akrab dengan dunia informasi dan teknologi (IT). Bidang ini, khususnya sebagai pengembang aplikasi bergerak atau mobile application developer, sudah ia geluti saat kuliah jurusan ilmu komputer di Kanada selepas menamatkan sekolah menengah atas di tanah kelahirannya.

Seusai menyelesaikan masternya di Kanada, ia langsung kembali ke Indonesia tahun 1981. Sampai saat ini Kendro sudah berhasil menciptakan sekitar 30 peranti lunak yang semuanya khusus untuk aplikasi bergerak.

Pria yang menikahi Linda Widjaja, teman kuliahnya di Kanada, itu memulai usaha dengan mendirikan perusahaan InMac, yakni distributor Apple Macintosh. Pada awal 1990-an Kendro mulai terjun pada aplikasi bergerak setelah Apple mengeluarkan PDA (personal data assistant) pertama bernama Newton. Tahun 1996 Nokia mengeluarkan communicator 9000 pertamanya.

Nokia cabang Indonesia kemudian menawarinya kerja sama dalam hal peranti lunak apa saja yang bisa disuntikkan ke dalam communicator. Pada Februari 1999, saat Kendro ditawari kerja sama dengan Nokia Asia Pasifik, ia membangun perusahaan di Singapura karena wilayah operasinya regional, tetapi pengembangan tetap dilakukan di Indonesia.

Mengapa harus membuka kantor di Singapura?

"Jujur saja, Pemerintah Singapura memberikan insentif yang baik. Badan penanaman modal Singapura juga sangat mendukung dengan memberikan insentif, grand, tax holiday, dan subsidi lain yang sangat menguntungkan buat orang berusaha," kata Kendro.

Ditanya apakah banyak orang Indonesia yang berpikiran maju di bidang IT, ayah tiga anak ini tanpa ragu menjawab, "Banyak."

Kemampuan IT anak-anak muda Indonesia, kata Kendro, tidak kalah dengan orang-orang India. Hanya kalau bicara outsourcing IT itu, selalu merujuk ke Bangalore, India, salah satunya karena anak-anak muda India unggul dalam berbahasa Inggris. Karena itu, mereka lebih cepat menyerap ilmu dan tanggap terhadap tren baru.

"Selain menguasai bahasa programming, anak-anak muda Indonesia wajib menguasai bahasa Inggris. Punya bakat besar di bidang IT tetapi terkendala bahasa Inggris, kan sayang kalau larinya cuma jadi tukang hacker," tutur Kendro.

Pria berkacamata ini tidak berhenti mencipta peranti baru. Kini ia mengembangkan Mobile Reward Exchange (MORE) sebagai "mata uang baru" dalam berbisnis. Alat bayar baru dari kumpulan reward (bonus/diskon) beberapa perusahaan dapat ditukar dengan barang apa pun yang menjadi mitranya. PERSONAL OPINION

In regard of her success in both South Korea and Japan, I always considered her as a very unique person since she already got her peak of career even before reached the age of 17. While other teenagers are still struggling to do homework or preparing for exams, she can record 3 albums in one year (each 3 in 2002 and 2003) which turned into million copies. Being too busy, she even refused to play as the main role in popular TV serial Princess Hours ‘Goong’ (and finally the main role was given to Yoon Eun Hye).

And finally what will happen happened soon. In December 2007, she stated that she no longer enjoys working and prefer study overseas (I heard she plan to America). At that time Korean fans were longing so much for her new Korean album as she had not released any for 2 years (and 3 years till now), all hope for her comeback. Most agreed as her career in Japan was declining (and even worse this year) and I agreed if she either took a break to study or made a comeback to Korea first. But surprisingly this year she said that she wished to be a world renowned singer in Europe and America. And soon her record label announced her debut schedule in U.S. Well, I can just wish her all the best for her career. Since she already got all in her teens age, I hope she still has a great motivation to be better.

I am Lazy

I just pass a very tiring day, don't study at all, haven't finished any assignments, while quizzes are coming, but I feel very satisfied today. I learn something I will never forget for the whole of my life, and much more precious (in my opinion) than if I studying today, even for the whole day continuously without taking a break.

In a society, or a group, or a team, there are three kinds of lazy person, who does not want to be involved in there. The first type is, the most one I ever met, and I myself was ever one of them, the person who comes to the field, say hello to everyone, try to do any easiest jobs as much as he wants, then go away as soon as possible, as he already contributes something and has a reason why he can leave.

The second type is, not as smart as the first, although smart in terms of bad side, I also often met, and I was sometimes one of them, the person who finds as many reasons as he can for not coming to the field, and can freely do his own business which is more important for him.

And I try to avoid being one of these 2 types, except I really really have to, no other choices. When one time, I become the one who handle many things, I realize, how cheap they are, then I think again, when I am like that, the other people may think the same about me, and I do not want to be such a cheap person. Even I'm not as smart as the others, at least, I have to be something in their eyes, because I'm a person. Different if I were an animal, then I would never care what the others view who I am.

The last one, is the type I really seldom find, and I personally think, maybe the worst, a person who does come to the field, gather with the others, listen and watch everything the others do, and, and, and, and that's all, just it. Even the war comes, then all persons die, maybe he will still be there, watching, or hide somewhere. I'm like that when I was so young, but then I think, imagine, how if I'm in the position of the others, struggling not to be killed, whereas one of your friends keep watching, how you will be killed, or how you will win, or do not care, just want to watch the ending of this drama.

Then, finally, rather than being a religious person, who came every week for praying (eh absolutely I cannot skip this session :D ), keep contributing my money for the others, be a vegetarian, or be the one who can pass religious message to everyone, I better choose to be better as a human first, be better in everything, as a student, as a child, as a brother, as a friend, as everything I am, cause I have to thank GOD first, for being born as a human, who has brain and heart. Why? Simply because, I often meet those kinds of people (err, ya, a quite small number actually), who are very close (according to them) to GOD, but, not less cheap even than the one who never knows what praying is.

LOVE and HATE it

I'm confusing of nothing right now, but I am always confused when thinking about this one subject. It's a very tiring subject, stealing most my time for it, sometimes i like it, but there's certain period makes me hate it so much. I want to go further with this subject one time, but sometimes it makes me want to run away far far from it.

Firstly, about first, very first impression. From the very first impression, of course most will dislike this subject, has projects in it, while there is still labs in it, etc etc. In the first lecture, I came alone, without my friends, because I came from room, not from another classes, because it was still first week, and surprisingly still no student came down, whereas it's 10 minutes before class started. I came in, and not long after that the lecturer came in, asked my name, and chatted for a very short time. Then another students finally arrived, lectures went on, and the other 1 person came. Well, let's see what the technician, or whoever she is, want to say, but, what the heck, she is lecturer, then, then why she was dressing in such errr, dont know how to describe it.

Still First First First, now first tutorial, ok, everyone has to contribute (less than 10 students per class), have to do the questions, whatever happens. Then getting tougher, first or second lecture, we are asked to buy (and read of course) the textbooks (not 1, but 2!!), and it is really really advisable (or almost compulsary). Then came the first lab, and I think it's gonna tougher, moreover, my friend directly chose me to become the group leader, err, I'm going to be angry. Quickly came the first meeting, and we keep debating, why? because the question in lab report is not so clear, ok, i have my own assumptions, they have their own. Then? Right, I'm dying, debating took most my energies, whereas some other members just 'watching' the 'horror movies'. Before going on, just want to take note first that this still goes on, until NOW!!

About the lecture notes, they are always posted out a few hours or minutes before, oh hell, what are you doing the whole time?? But on the other hand, I love the way that lecturer gave his/her ideas, presented the lessons, etc etc. But again, the tutorial (to be done by GROUP) was always posted 1 or 2 days before. I ALWAYS have to hurry so much before and after I went to temple on Sunday. It's fine at first, it's still my job, as a student, nothing to complain about. I have to use my time for studying, that's all. Hey2, suddenly my group mates simply (or fooly) ask, do you need my help? Or sometimes just pretend as if nothing happens, thinking, oh well, there's tutorial tmrw, then it's fine lhaa, my friends are struggling on it, i'll pray so hard for them. Errr, cant believe it, for 1 semester, and it's my closest friend, hell...

Talking about lab, project, there will always be meetings, and of course, not because as the team leader, but as a member as well, as a student, and as a PERSON (well, i'm alive), I have to give my opinions, and so often, because of the worst worst worst explanation in lab manual, we keep debating, and in meetings, that's all fine, but why, there is other who ALWAYS just sitting, 'watching the war', and numb. Whereas I try to put my ideas, which sometimes I think somehow better than the others, but he/they just watching the drama, although they're in same way of thinking with me. And if he's assigned a job, then came to me, ask, anything, keep asking, dude why not struggling yourself first before keep disturbing me? Become a numb when you should SAY something but disturb me when you should do your job, YOURSELF. Again, I am, speechless, such a close friend, doing such matters.

Apart from those all, stressful things (although I'm not a stressful person), this subject is a huge, important, big one in terms of credits it has. Then the stressful keep going on, while I [really] enjoy studying it but it keep pushing and pushing me. The lecturers give a lot of supports, ideas, excellent (IMO) way of teaching, but sometimes put in a lot of burdens when they're supposed to be helpful. I hope I will soon pass this semester, and all subjects in it. But still, like how I learn a lot from this subject, apart from the knowledge given, I learn that, friend is a forever friend, but when the tasks coming, you still, should be professional. Sigh, sigh, want to push the time to go faster :(

Under My Skin vs Mirotic

Under My Skin is a lead song of Sarah Connor's new album, the single was released on August 1, 2008. Whereas Mirotic is a lead song of DBSK's new album, the single has the same name of the album, was released on September 26, 2008. Both are new songs and becomes the lead single of the album, one from a very popular German female singer and the other from a Korean boyband whose fanbase is throughout the Asia, both become hits, Connor's new album is in top 3 in German while DBSK's new album is likely to be the 2008's best selling album in Korea, but the interesting fact is, both songs are exactly the same song!!

Connor's Under My Skin came out around beginning of August, whereas DBSK's Mirotic about one month later, which then later lead to some controversy, either Connor's fans or DBSK's thought the song was plagiarized by DBSK. Then DBSK's label stated that the band had finished recorded Mirotic around June, earlier than release of Under My Skin. Luckily their label quickly disclosed the that none of the them copying each other. The song's copyright is in fact, according to them, bought half by Connor for European release and other half by DBSK for Asian release.

Then, both are original songs, composed by Danish producers. For me personally, I like the song, and maybe first DBSK's song I like, however, I prefer Connor's version. Although it's the same song (of course different language), but there are some improvements done by both DBSK and Connor, causing the song to be more appealing to their voice and image.

DBSK is a typical boyband singing and dancing at the same time, hence chorus of Mirotic is more for dancing, whereas chorus of Under My Skin is like dance-pop. While Mirotic has a rap part, Under My Skin has a bridge.

I feel that both of them will get more credits as they can make the songs appealing to them, Mirotic then sounds like another typical Korean dance songs, and Under My Skin like typical Western female dance-pop songs, by still keep most part the same.

Don't know why I like listening both songs at the exactly same time. Start together Under My Skin from the beginning and Mirotic from 00:15, then you will see that both songs are firstly starting with the same melody, then the same male voice of 'wo!' (about half second only) and you will listen different languages but the same melodies, then it went different when going into the chorus, and in the end of (every) chorus they will at the same time harmoniously sing "I got you - under my skin".

Then always going together like that every chorus, then in the bridge they are different again, whereas Mirotic has rap rather than bridge, then in the end again that one line will be sung 'together' again. Love that part =D

In the end, Mirotic has one more chorus than Under My Skin, so Under My Skin ends a length of one chorus earlier.

Childhood Songs

Not like today's songs whose theme is about love and romantic, melodical, or bands' songs, during my childhood music industry for children was about the same with for teenagers-adults, or even larger I guess. Several days ago I got a few songs of that period, which reminded me of my childhood time.

In my primary school time, I think Joshua was one of the booming child singers, his debut was at his 5 or 6, but not sure, I remembered the song was "Obok-Obok", but forgot whether it was his first successful song, there's anothers related to 'bird' or whatever, but I often watched the video at that time haha. Then at the same period came many other young singers, Chikita Meidy, Tina Toon, Melissa, Maissy, Trio Kwek2 of course, Saskia, Geovanni (first artis I ever met face to face and took a photo with hahahaha), Enno Lerian, Agnes Monica, Tasya, Cindy Cenora, then I think Sherina is the 'last' booming child artist-singer, before music industry here switched to adult - teenager - romantic- love love love love love love (repeated million times) - bullsh*t (errrr, i really hope for another new 'switch' pleaseeeeee, boringgggg).

In short, I loved my childhood time so much, waked up every Sunday morning only to watch cartoon till afternoon (and now I realized that I should go to temple instead of cartoon hahaha), playing a quite number of playstation and PC games, and at school, playing 'toss-the-card" or err, dont know what the name, free gifts got from snacks which fooled us hahaha, then if you toss with the others and you win, you get one more from each losers, and related to the blog title, I really really thanked GOD that I was born in a 'short' period where local media really really supported children-entertainment industry. I cannot imagine how if I was born later, maybe I will watch 'sinetron' everyday, listen to and sing "LOVE" song everyday, watch infotainment which ALWAYS show the negative side of every celebrities, I consumed almost the same things as what should be the adults', haha.

Hmm, now I really miss that time, then after listening to this song, I really miss my high-school period as well, because of the lyric, miss all my friends :(

Clicker is a new tool used for continuous assessment in my university, on which there are several buttons, a bit similar like telephone number (0-9), and practically used for multiple choices questions. In the end of lecture (and hence of the slides), or sometimes in the middle, the lecturer will insert a few slides of questions regarding what he just explained some minutes before. After reading the question, he will give several seconds for you to answer it (there is a timer there plus a list of students' names), when you press first choice for example, your name should disappear from the list, indicating that you have answered the question. If you suddenly change your mind, you can simply press another button and it will be regarded as your latest or new answer, provided that there are still a few seconds before the 'poll', as it is called, is closed and the percentage of students' answers are shown immediately in a graph and finally the lecturer will tell the correct answer.

Err, actually I do not intend to write about this unimportant stuff, but just to give a brief idea how the new assessment is done, in addition to normal quizzes plus exam. In every one or two lectures there will be usually clicker assessment and each assessment contains 1-3 questions. Finally from whole marks you collect each lectures, this will be summed up and counted into your final score.

At the first time I heard about this, this subject seems to be a tough one, before I realized that that whole mark counted in this clicker assessment is only around five percent of your final score. From this small percentage, I just knew that it can be perceived in different ways for different students. One friend of my class sometimes asks me, and the others, how many Qs you answer correctly just now. For me, I don't care the marks I get, if I answer all correct, I don't feel any proud or anything, or if I answer all wrong, that's always fine, but for his opinion, if you count up to five percent, then if you get almost 5 percent, it will contribute much to your final grade.

This matters so much for him, and I don't think he is wrong, but I'm just surprised how he appreciates this small percentage of score, of each question, which may only contribute not even 0.2 percent to final grade. Moreover, the question sometimes has very close relation among the 2 choices. If you choose the first one, it is correct, but the second may be the best. Even sometimes the question is found in the slide right after the question (??!??!!!). I love this subject, and try to get the main idea of each lecture, then if I cannot memorize each detailed points just mentioned, I don't want to force myself to memorize everything mentioned, because I know I cannot. Even if you get it correct, does not mean you understand, but the expert student can still also fail in several Qs.

It's just a matter of different perception about how each students think how he learns every subjects. I just can conclude that he is a type of person who always tries to do everything perfectly, as I want to in past, but soon I realized it's not my type of studying. I am still on my own way, but next time I may have to try harder to get better mark, like he who always has incentives do get high score, even from a small portion =D

Beyonce's Upcoming Album

Hey2 I've been longing for her new album so much. After her 2006's huge album, of course many people hope her new album at least as good as before. And finally, the two new songs for the album have been premiered on several radios in the United States (I read from news October 7 or 8), before it will be released next month. And, I like the 2 songs so much. 'If I Were A Boy' is really nice pop stuff from her. Second song, "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" is good also, but I have to admit that it is not as good as her previous hits like Deja Vu, or Irreplaceable. It just like the same as "Get Me Bodied". Both songs are very nice, but I anticipate for a song with more beat in it as she is really pro in it, yeah I think the fans will think the same. I cannot say the previous album is better because of the 2 songs only, but overall these 2 are really excellent.

When I scrolled down my blog it seems to be a music blog, err, because there are many albums I am waiting for which will be released in the end of this year. Hmm, I'm waiting for Jay Chou's new album (the main song is sooooooooo superb), release date is postponed for 1 week, but, yaa it's fine, then Beyonce (hopefully not postponed, then it's next month), EXILE (waaa in my birthday!!!), Agnes Monica (come on, I'm waiting for 3 years, oh noooo), BoA's US debut album (is it really this year? oh I hope there's a better song than the single), Britney's Circus (wah a day before my birthday, but it's on her birthday, go on gal!!), YUI's b-side compilation(next month), mmmm, don't know what else, I forgot :), but, don't forget the exam period - 4 weeks from now, oh no T_T

First Love (Song)

Yeah, it's Utada Hikaru's song. As I put a "song" in bracket you must notice that it's her song as there is no more popular song using the same title. It's a very popular song (not in Japan only) and I think most people ever listened to it before. If you never listened to it I suggest to try because it's a really nice ballad, plus not sound like J-Pop song (if you don't like J-Pop), am I right?

It's a very old song (1999's song) but I never felt bored of it. The first time I listened to this song was around 5-7 years ago. It is one of the very first J-Pop songs I ever listened to and memorized the lyric. Of course at that time I still didn't know the meaning of the song, I never cared about the lyric before, maybe I hadn't know what the hell LOVE is :) Until now I still listened to this song and sometimes realized that it does not sound like other usual 'typical' J-Pop songs.

However one thing I impressed in is that this kinda well-known song ~which is also the title track of the album which became the best selling album in Japanese music history till now, more than 10 millions copies sold~ came from an only 15 years old girl, who was just a normal student with her friends at school, then suddenly in a night after her debut became a superstar, by 2 million copies sold crazily in the first week of that album.

Many english parts included in the lyric -apart of the japanese as the main lyric- helpful so much for me to understand the meaning of the song, as I don't know Japanese at all =p , yeah surely helpful also to memorize the lyric. She ever lived some years in USA, recorded a few songs there (although only moderate successful), that's why you can see that she sang the english part smoothly. Hmm, actually there is no many thing to say since I never learn music. I seldom addicted to a kinda ballad song, but this one is very special, a very nice song.

I put the video of her singing the song live, in her 2006 tour, and she sang it perfectly, as if she put the song alive again, although I think the song is always alive (in some websites the song is stated to be one of the most favourite karaoke songs up till today). One more credit, her vocal in this video is not so different from the original one in CD, her voice is so stable ^^ Just in my opinion, this is still the best J-Pop song so far, has a such level of originality, not influenced by any other songs, has its own style, which we difficult to find in this era. Exam ?!

Oh no time passed so fast and while I'm still struggling to catch up my subjects chapters by chapters it's already 1 month before exam period T_T
Today I have a meeting for tomorrow's report, then two more meetings at night at the same time so I have to choose one.. Sorry :(
Tomorrow there will be a quiz, and I am not well prepared yet for a number of tutorials.
Just counting down anythings to go.
I have 5 subjects to be in exam this semester, and I have arranged my schedule so hard so that I will have a proper interval between one exam and the next, but I still have to catch up from now, I lag too many things :(
Then after the exams I need to immediately continue for the projects on early December.

I seldom listened to his songs and even I just know that the first single in this album "Nobody" has been released several months ago. I actually love more the first half of this album, and the ending song "Stop This World" is a so nice song suitable to be the the ending of the album. =D

Congratulations on Your Wedding!

This afternoon I went to a wedding party of my relative, who live in Singapore but I never met her before. My brother already met her several times so I suggest she knew a bit of me. This afternoon I went there and met some of my families from my home country, one of them is my grandma whom I never met for one year already :(

Actually it was not the real ceremony, I do not understand how Singaporean celebrates a wedding party, but I think it was like an open-house, since the real wedding ceremony is during this night. And badly I cannot attend it because tomorrow I have a morning class which I cannot miss. Another unique thing I never noticed before is that wedding party here is not like in my home country where the whole families even including overseas are supposed to attend, and around 100 guests can be the family only (excluding other guests, friends, etc). Here the Singaporean's family looks different, just a number of people in his family, whereas for indo, even my grandma who is her auntie came from indo, then in indo a wedding will always be a very big big party :)

Just wish both of them the best for their life together as a new husband and a new wife.

Biography is a 'true' or 'real' story of someone's life which usually written in a book, or sometimes in an essay. It can be seen clearly from the word, biography, which came from the Greek words 'bio' which means life and 'graphy' which means to write. Well, done about the tedious introduction, haha.

Actually I had nothing to write as I am trying to catch up for every lessons I lag now, before yesterday I read an opinion, from someone who always become my life inspiration, which realized me many things I never thought of before. He/she stated that she love reading biography as she can learn many things about life from biography. From biography, you can learn from someone's experiences during whole of his life (until the biography is written, of course) in just a few hours.

When I am in a bookstore, or a library, I will always search for anything related to computers, music, programming, politics, or world as a whole, and biography is one of the least thing will come into my mind. I never think why we need to read a biography, as it just informs you about one person's life. Indeed, there are many things in it you can extract. That is the first simple thing that I never noticed. Then I suddenly think of blog. The reason I love to read others' blog is to know what their opinions are, what their experiences are, then if I cannot apply anything to myself, at least I can get some information or anything about my friends in that time, in addition to increase my writing skill, of course.

The reason for all those is simple, I spent my life before with my family, lots of friends to whom I can share any problems, anything to say, anything to share. As I get one small problem, my family or any friends can always solve that. When I get a problem in studies, I can always get the solutions quickly, either to study harder, ask a friend, or even to find a extra course. As I got more matured, I became too dependent, I cannot stand alone anymore, I always need someone when I want to do something. Luckily now, as I get into a tertiary education and live far from my family and friends, the only good thing is that I have to do make any decisions myself. I am a university student, then simple to say, when I get a bad score, I have to quickly make a decision what to do.

A semester passed quickly, I tried to adapt myself to everything, to this lovely place of living, then problems came faster than I predicted, so I had to solve all my problems myself, I was saying at that time 'this is my time!!' Badly to say, I was totally wrong. I failed to solve one problem but at the same time another problems came, and the situation came again and again into its peak during exam time. At the same time again, I created a fatally wrong opinion. I thought that I should be mature myself 'naturally' in terms of way of thinking and behaving. As I walked alone I will gain experiences and be a better person day by day, but sorry to say, I was wrong. I immediately realized that there is no such natural thing in this era. I have many friends, family, and millions of people connected easily by such phenomenon (not anymore =D) called 'internet'. Then this new global world allows one to learn something quickly from anothers.

I ever wonder why someone now can be better faster than he should be? Why this competing world targets younger and younger people? When someone is used to achieve everything in his 30s or 40s, now we always see 'young' entrepreneur, 'young' professor, 'young' millionaire and any other 'young'. I believe one of the reason is that they can learn others' experiences, choose the best one and do it quickly and choose the bad ones and simply ignored them. It's like an invention in technology, if someone already creates an invention, then just use it to find another inventions, don't find the same invention and you will lose half your life already and unfortunately it is useless. Back to my own experience, I just realize that I cannot grow up alone, I have to look up the others and I just know that it is true, when someone says, there is no such originality anymore now, you have to look others' experiences, put or copy the good thing in you, and as time goes you will still be 'you' yourself not other person, but in a better way. In short, I have to learn from the others.

Happy that I have time to think more of it, get the reason why I was so dropped months behind, and convince myself that I have to socialize with the others. Even once you get into the society and work, absolutely you won't work alone the whole time and wait for the salary, then meet people only after coming back to home. The last point I get is that, blogging, forum, biography are not something wasting your life and therefore I do the right decision by writing a blog, and hopefully one day I will have a chance to read many people's biography. ^^

Believe it or not but that is true, pengalaman pahit yg pernah dirasakan dan dialami oleh diri saya pribadi, kita mempunyai banyak sekali kawan dan sahabat, apabila kita bergelimang dlm uang! Tetapi dimana kita jatuh mereka menjauhi diri kita, se-akan2 kita ini penderita penyakit AIDS yg menular yg tidak boleh di dekati lagi.  Tanyalah di dlm lubuk hati kita masing2, apakah kadang2 kita tidak menyewakan diri kita sendiri kepada orang yg membutuhkan seorang kawan, dimana kita hanya mau datang kalau ada maunya atau butuhnya saja, dimana kita hanya mau menghubungi per telefon kalau kita membutuhkan bantuannya, tetapi di-hari2 lainnya SORRY NO TIME!  Tanya saja pada diri kita masing2 apakah kita tidak merasa bahagia apabila ada orang yg mau mengirimkan email khusus untuk diri kita pribadi, apakah kita tidak bahagia kalau kita mendapatkan telpon dari seorang kawan maupun kenalan lama kita? Hiburan sinetron TV yg bisa kita lihat selama 24 jam sehari dari berbagai macam channel ternyata tidak bisa mengisi kekosongan hati maupun perasaan kesepian kita. Mang Ucup menghadapi komputer kadang2 ber-jam2 sehari, tetapi kenyataan pahit yg harus saya terima, komputer tidak mempunyai perasaan dimana kita bisa berbagi rasa suka maupun duka.  Banyak orang mempunyai pikiran bahwa kebanyakan orang tidak bisa mengerti maupun menerima dirinya atau menilai bahwa banyak orang tidak mau mendengar keluhannya, tetapi apakah tidak lebih baik kalau kita berusaha untuk mengerti orang lain daripada mereka mengerti kita? Apakah tidak lebih baik kalau kita menyediakan waktu untuk mendengar keluhan orang lain daripada kita sendiri yg selalu mengeluh?  Seandainya Anda mendapatkan uang tiap hari sebesar US $ 86.400 yg harus di habiskan tiap hari dgn tanpa sisa satu cent pun juga, karena sisa uang yg tak terpakai akan di delete sehingga tidak bisa ditabung ataupun dibawa ke hari esok. Pasti Anda akan manfaatkan uang itu sebaik mungkin. Kalau tidak bisa kita pakai sendiri semuanya, pasti kita akan berikan untuk amal ataupun orang yg membutuhkannya. Wah ini sih hanya khayalannya mang Ucup aja, mana mungkin sih ada orang yg mau memberikan uang sebanyak itu untuk di hambur2kan tiap hari!  ADA! Tetapi bukan dalam bentuk US $ melainkan dlm bentuk waktu - TIME. Tiap hari kita mendapatkan 86.400 detik yg bisa kita gunakan dan manfaatkan, waktu yg tidak di manfaatkan akan hilang sia2 begitu saja karena tidak akan ada yg bisa dibawa ataupun ditabung untuk hari esok. Disamping itu Anda pun tidak akan bisa mendapatkan lebih daripada waktu yg telah dijatahkan untuk Anda per hari. It allow no overdraft.  Waktu tiap hari berjalan terus, tidak ada kekuasaan di dunia ini yg akan bisa menyetop jalannya waktu ataupun memutar balikannya. Waktu yg diberikan harus digunakan untuk hidup hari ini dan saat ini juga, tidak untuk hari esok, maka dari itu gunakanlah waktu ini sebaik mungkin entah untuk memelihara kesehatan, mendapatkan kebahagiaan ataupun sukses di dlm kehidupan Anda. Berikanlah makna di dlm kehidupan Anda bukan hanya untuk diri Anda sendiri saja melainkan juga untuk membahagiakan sesama manusia di dlm lingkungan kehidupan Anda. Peliharalah persahabatan, sebab satu sahabat nilainya ada jauh lebih banyak daripada 10.000 musuh.  Maka dari itu janganlah buang waktu yg Anda miliki, janganlah sia2akan waktu yg sedemikian berharganya. Bagikanlah sebagian dari waktu yg Anda miliki untuk seorang kawan/sobat. Pasti waktu yg Anda berikan tsb akan berbalik kembali seperti juga satu lingkaran walaupun terkadang kita tidak tahu dari mana dan dari siapa datangnya. In this crowded world (you can imagine how many people you see each day), there are still many people feel lonely, even there's a business purpose to rent a friend. By USD 20 per hour, you can get a 'friend' who can listen to your opinion, expressions, or anything you want to get rid of. And that's all. ONLY for that purpose.

You may not believe it as the first I read it, but it's true when you stop thinking of yourself and start to think far away from your life. A very simple but nice example, AIDS people. I don't know a lot about people in another countries, but in my home country, the AIDS people can really have nobody. If they are lucky, they will have families or dozens of friends to spend time with. But if not, there are cases where they really live alone in the world of more than 6 billion people. Maybe AIDS is a too complicated example, just see the beggars. In developing countries you can find them anywhere, then see how no one even look at them. Ya of course not always, but you cannot deny that there are such cases.

Now think yourself whether you sometimes 'rent' yourself to your friend. Sometimes you will find a friend and spend your time when you need him but you also often say, Sorry, I have no time. Hey it's a common thing and sometimes I agree that we do it with our friends, who are not close to us at all, if we need them of course we will find them, but if not, it's not possible also for us to always say hello to them and chat about everything. Ya I understand what it means, that you should spend your time with your friends, but I suggest a different opinions: why sometimes you cannot ASK your friends to rent themselves for you.

It is so common to see someone with so many friends in his life but still feel so lonely. If you are in a new society and from the beginning never feel comfortable with it, then it can be understood why you don't 'want' them. But when you find your friend who is always happy among his friends and suddenly feel lonely, then stressful, don't want to eat, spend time crying every night, I always think that he or she is really in a serious problem, or, he does not want to ask his friends for a rent. If you are in a problem, then you don't ask for rent, means that you say nothing, tell nothing, ignore your friends, then NEVER hope that all your friends will come to you to ask WHY?. If you hope that, then you will harm your friendships. If they don't ask anything, then you will one day hate him. Remember that every one have limited time per day and you cannot wish even your closest friend come to you every time. He also has to 'rent' himself to another friends or another matters.

If you need some time to be alone, then just be lonely in a room, no need to INVOLVE other people. If you already want a friend to talk with, immediately ask them for a rent. Of course in this case, there will always no price for a rent (don't find a friend who ask for a price for this 'rent' haha). However now the case is so strange. While there are many people with no friend at all, there are also many people with many friends but don't want to rent any of his friends. I often find some of my friends with problems in themselves, say nothing, then suddenly don't want to say to somebody because of NO REASON, or suddenly be angry without no reason. By doing that, your friends may want to solve your problem, but it is likely you will put a new problem to your friends and yourself.

Now I just want to continue the article, says that..
Suppose you get USD 86,400 everyday to be spent ALL since you cannot put it in a bank or save it anywhere, then of course you will use it as well as possible, or it is possible that you will give it too needed people, compared the case if you missed the money.
Now let's suppose the money is time, you have 86400 seconds per day to be spent. It is the same thing, you cannot ask more than that amount, that amount cannot be less, and you also cannot save that time for anytime else in the future.

To know the value of:
one year, ask a student who failed the exam
one month, ask a mother whose baby is premature
one week, ask an editor of a weekly magazine
one hour, ask someone who is waiting for his beloved one
one minute, ask someone who is late for his flight
one second, ask someone who just got an accident because of a fault in only one second.

I never knew anything about this Asia Song Festival before last year incidentally watched 4th Asia Song Festival 2007 in one tv station, I forgot what it is. Unfortunately it was not aired in my country hence I never knew about this before. When I watched it last year I thought it's a very huge concert since there were singers around Asia and the audience was so crowded. I remembered last year I watched F4, Mai Kuraki, Peterpan, and didn't recognize the others. But I suggest I missed the Korean singers' performance at that time, such as DBSK, Super Junior, etc. Luckily I could watch Peterpan's performance =D. I think this year's concert will be more wonderful, moreover it's the 5th anniversary. I never heard of Vietnam's Ho Quynh Huong and Thailand's ICE, but from last year concert I found many nice songs and now I'm waiting for performances from all performers ^^

3rd compilation album from Namie Amuro.

It's released on July 30, 2008 and 1st since her 2nd compilation album in 2002. The 6 years gap may become a reason why this album became so popular since few months before it's released.

Many fans said it's a very correct time for her to release another compilation album because of her revived popularity in the past one year. She got back #1 in album chart last year (PLAY) since her last #1 in 2000 and #1 in single chart this year (60s 70s 80s) since her last in 1998 (10 years), plus an award in VMA Japan 2008 which reveal her comeback. What the fans said maybe correct looking at the fact that this album did top the chart for 6 consecutive weeks, made her as the first female solo singer to do so since 1979 or almost 30 years. The album still continues to stay in top 10 regularly till now and sold almost 1.4 million in Japan only.

I was not too surprised about how the album can achieve that since I also think that it's just a correct time and enough well promotions. But the only setback in my opinion is that this album looks like more a single collection album rather than best-of album. I cannot see whether they are just too lazy to put a number of nice songs during the past 6 years into one album. How funny they just put the 15 singles released in past 6 years in addition to 2 new songs, although I admire the two new songs which support this album so much. The singles are not bad, but she has some album tracks which are better than some bad singles. I was really disappointed when the tracks of this album were released and I couldn't believe they just made it like a single collection.

Afterall, I still like this album and since I have not listened to her past songs, this album can be a good reference although it only contains single tracks. My favorite tracks are Do Me More, Sexy Girl, What A Feeling, Wishing on The Same Star, All For You, Baby Don't Cry, Girl Talk, and White Light, and Rock Steady. Yeah it's more than half of the tracks and the others are also nice to listen. Love the covers, the images, and the PVs ^^

CIDP

Computing Innovation and Design Project.
Even I still look at my degreeaudit for the abbreviations. It's a very unique subject, which has to be taken once you take Software Engineering 1 course and will appear automatically after add/drop period in the student link which add 4 AUs to the total AUs. Luckily this semester I have difficulties in overloading, otherwise I may almost have 30 AUs this sem!!!

The subject itself is a project related to sofwareengineering1 lab and the two runs together where CIDP is only in 1 recess week and 1 other week after the exam period. And for that 2 weeks only, this CIDP subject can strangely stand itself for 4AUs. SoftwareEngineering1 course will teach you some concepts for the lab which continues to CIDP, that's how the 8AUs can run together, but it's clear that you can still do the CIDP without taking softwareengineering1 and if you are very skillful enough in website and database, then that 4AUs are done already. Then I'm always thinking myself wtf this project can be so not common and itself has so many AUs.

I just finished one of two weeks of the project although I don't think I have done half my works. I get annoyed enough not to have holiday in this recess week but at least I can get something useful from this project.

The 1st day went so bad. I had no idea what to do and just hoped to be able to come for CEC investiture which should be more fun than the project but unfortunately I couldn't. Even in the end of the day our team still debated about our own assumptions which supposed to be done in earlier weeks. Luckily the long wasteful day finished any different assumptions and I hope there won't be any debating after this.

The 2nd day even worse and may be the worst. I didn't know what to do. I had to do the coding part but even I knew nothing about it and database. I want to do something but my friend just gave me a tutorial file to learn and I was sooo lazy to learn since it's too much. I wanted to study another subjects but of course I couldn't. I spend almost the whole day by playing and did everything not important.

Finally we can cope together with the problems and helped one another immediately. In the 3rd day I could do the coding while learning from the tutorial file or just googling. The other good thing was that they have finished the template of our homepage website and I think it's a nice one.

Maybe the 4th day is the most effective day for me. Although I should not waste too much time for it, at least there's something ready to be put in the website.

Then in the last day everything we hoped to finish has been done already and now I'm back thinking about my holiday which has gone already since I still had to catch up for next 'busy' weeks. I also have to think about the next 5 days lab after the exam since it's the deadline already. But one thing I'm waiting for is to go back to my home country, since my year-end holiday is cut one week already because of this project and now I'm trying to find any tickets to come back at a 'reasonable' price.

A song from Ayumi's 5th album Rainbow. Firstly I didn't like any songs from this album. Those all are just too boring for me. Finally one day after I read the lyric of this song I was just so impressed the way how she arranged the english sentences -apart from the japanese words which I do not understand at all- and it's just sounds so nice, subsequently I love the song. as well. For example like "a woman never shows her fears, a woman never shows her tears". I just wonder how come she wrote in english every beautiful (and different - I like it!) two sentences in chorus part like that, since she cannot speak english fluently, but maybe it's she who is rich of english vocabulary. Afterall, there is one part I love the most : "a woman could be dangerous, a woman could be generous" , agree on that, haha...

About the song itself, from the english part in the lyric you can simply suggest it's a song about "women's emancipation". However I do not understand japanese and because of that cannot understand the whole part (eh anyone can help me? =D). Then from the video itself I only watched it once or twice and still lazy to catch the meaning.

Hey finally the quizzes today has passed and means that half of the semester has almost done. It's a very tiring sem and I want to have a rest during recess but, unfortunately this sem's recess is supposed to be my busy week since it's time for CID project T_T
Whereas I'm thinking of catching up some chapters I missed in some subjects but how come if I only have free time during weekends. Then the exam is coming soon. Oh it's so fast, only 4 months for 1 semester. I'm so confused now.

Tomorrow night will be the beginning of recess (except for me) and some my friends planned to go for a kind of 'inning' but a few days later I was told that there will be Computer Engineering Club Investiture tomorrow night but at the same time there will be SU Union Dinner. When I read the email carefully again just now I just realized that I should go for my maincomm this afternoon for SU Union Dinner tomorrow but because of quizzes I didn't read that part, and now I am still confused what to do tomorrow, 2 invitations for the same schedule. Oh I'm really confused what to do next, in recess, after recess, then before exams there will be some quizzes again T_T

Lovely Wednesday

I am just stucked in a particular part while studying for quizzes tomorrow and willing to write some things. I always love the way I arranged my schedule this semester. It is like a very nice personal arrangement for myself such that Monday is a normal day for starting a week (from weekend), tuesday and thursday is a very very busy from the morning till evening whereas Wednesday in between is fully free for me. I can do either tutorials or assignments in wednesday since most my tutorials in thursday and friday. Then finally since Friday has usually many events at night, I only had a class till afternoon.

Tomorrow will be a very lousy day that there are 2 quizzes plus i cannot do tomorrow's microP tutorial. I am waiting so much for the end of tomorrow where Friday is always a relaxing day before a very very busy 'recess' next week.

Although I studied already for quizzes tomorrow the whole day but I still get confused in some parts :( . I'm going for it again now.
